Top 5 thickest shorthorn bulls available.

Saw a mature picture of Muridale Thermal Energy when looking up some cattle yesterday on the internet, don't think there are many that will beat that! HC Cruiser from JIT would take some beating too!

    Birth weight epds and such

I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments JIT, from experience I have had results all over the place. My personal views are that nutrition is the biggest determinant of BW and that poor CED values result in dead calves! I think the $CEZ Index Value is an extremely valuable tool when read in...

    Hill Haven Fire Storm 28C

With all due respect, I must stand up for XBAR here.  Fire Storm's January 2019 ASA EPD's are not impressive for me and I would also question what 'breed improver' traits he would bring to my herd. Phenotypically he is very impressive though!

    BSG Sale last week

Does anyone have the sale price of the Profitwise bull at hand? What a magnificent animal, with GEPD figures! Probably the best sale catalogue I have ever seen regarding figures and breeding predictability. Hopefully he went to Select Sires or Semex that distribute internationally!

3 generations Bull to Grandsire progeny- Shorthorn

Brilliant! That heifer is worth a lot of money, but keep her! I have been very happy with my Yesterday progeny, possibly a bit too much frame for me out of my Spry's All Gold cows, but it's easy to make cattle smaller framed! Breed my first group in November. Some hitting 2yrs as we have had...

Rose of Sharon family and Baron Victor

I respect the people who stay traditional, sometimes one needs to take a step back. Take a look at the massive frame, slab-sided Shorthorns of the past. Thank heavens that some breeders kept on the path!

    Black shorthorns

With all due respect aj, this seems to be a fruitless pursuit in my opinion. That is what commercial breeders do, not seedstock producers! If you've got 20 years ahead of you to experiment, why not try to improve something good already, rather than try to start something new from scratch. You...

The Pharo philosophy makes a lot of sense to me,I believe they are onto a good wicket here!

<band> This is where I am heading! Sold my first breeding females last week, after 15 years of breeding Shorthorns! Couldn't bring myself to sell something I wouldn't use myself.

    FULLBLOOD MAINE UPDATE

What an animal on the b, d, f, g, and j pictures. Great job there, surely signs of a mature breeding programme! Brilliant!
