Need Help- Alberta Show Steer Teddy Bears

Thanks for the info BTDT & vc. The steers look awesome but I was hoping to find something a bit cheaper. I think the ones I saw were $40 or $50 and shipping was only going to be around $15. I really should have just ordered them when I found the website in the first place!

Need Help- Alberta Show Steer Teddy Bears

A few months back I saw a website for show steer teddy bears that were made by a new company in Alberta that looked really nice. I planned to order some as Christmas presents for a few kids I know but I can't remember the name of the company. I've searched through my internet history but can't...

    My New Puchases

Last month a friend and I attended the Southeast Saskatchewan Sweep Steaks sales where I purchased these two females who I'm really excited about. Both of them were my pick of their sales and I didn't have to break the bank on either of them. The first heifer is a Blair-Athol 6 Solid daughter...

    How to build/extend a tail

I'm showing a heifer this fall who had the tip of her tail freeze when she was born. Does anyone have info on how to build/extend a tail so it looks more normal? I've heard of a few ideas using the combination of glue and zip ties that I'm going to try and I have a while to play around and lots...

I finally got a chance to get a decent picture of him. Here he is slicked out at 5.5 months old. 13B will be for sale this fall. Comments are appreciated.

Underrated or forgotten products? Or What did you learn this summer?

I think that Hair Set is one of the most underrated fitting products. I was fitting with a Simmy guy and he couldn't get his heifer's long body hair up like he wanted so I told him I'd go get some Hair Set and he didn't even know what it was.  He saw the difference it made and now their tack box...

    A pretty little gal

Is that your website? That Yahtzee bull looks really cool! Do you have another picture of him? I also really like the looks of Yankee. I wish there were more Galloway cattle shown in Canada; they are a pretty neat breed from what I've seen on Steer Planet posts and HAB's farm facebook page.

    custom made show box suggestions

A good friend of mine made an aluminum tack box for me last year. Between the two of us (he is not involved in the cattle industry) we spent a lot of time planning and designed what I think is a really cool box that a lot of people have commented on. A few of the features are: -A small drawer...

    Steer Declare by Date

In my 4-H club which is in Alberta we have a 210 (might be 205, but in that ballpark) day minimum time that you must own the steer before you show him at our show which is the first week of June. We used to weigh our steers the week before Agribition but we now weigh the week after to allow kids...

Blow and Show- tips on the tail head?

If you're allowed to put product in the hair, just not aerosol I'd get some Doc Brannen's Hair Set. It's what I use for non-aerosol shows or when picturing cattle that I don't want to have to wash out. It's pretty good stuff; for tailheads I spray a bit on either side just until the hair is a...

    Drugs for Hauling/Show Stress

I really appreciate all the info that I've received from you guys! So far the plan is to stock up on electrolytes but also keep looking into other products. I've decided not to Draxxin my animals before the trip. I emailed the Hydro Lac company and they said I can't get it in Canada. HAB was...

    Cooking in the Stall

Hashbrown casserole, pulled pork and beef barley soup are all really good in the slow cooker and are filling too. We make it ahead and freeze it. We try to cook most of our lunches at long shows. It saves money and tastes way better than most of the bought stuff.

    sure champ?

Anyone know if it'll be available in Canada anytime soon? I'd really like to try it but I don't have a trip to the states planned anytime soon.
