    Do cattle have sensitivity feelings?

This may sound absurd to some but I wonder about cattle and their personal feelings. We have a new Heatwave calf that cries.  I am not talking about bawling with his lungs. I am talking about tears rolling down his cheeks.  Anything we do that is new to him he cries. At first I thought it was...

Fun calf names for this year!

My son named our 07 steer Kreg, but the breeder thought we named him Bruce, so all the while he was still there he was called Bruce. It just fit him so well, we called him Bruce-a-Billion. Because it cost a Billion to feed him. Our Heifer is Sassy and she is just that! This year for 08 we have a...

    Raising clubbys is inhumane

In my opinion great guys dont let things like this slip through to the book.  If it is common knowledge then I would presume he is opening himself up for trouble by knowledgeable gross neglegence.  I believe that was discussed in another post nonetheless.

    Raising clubbys is inhumane

Also guys dont forget your diet on your preg cows/heifers.  If they are fat your asking for it, especially in the last four months. We make that mistake when we take our show heifers and get them "beautiful" then try breeding them after all the shows. Some wont even breed for the first year.  If...

    Raising clubbys is inhumane

You guys do your homework, before you breed your heifers/cows.  There are some really great bulls out there with the genetics you desire from Heatwave but with a better probablility for successful calving.  If you look in the Lautner directory for 2008 there are a bunch of bulls that have...

121# Heatwave calf w/ swollen tongue

Old vets are the best...back on the dairy our vet told us to use plain Pet milk..that you use for cooking in eyes for pink-eye and cloud-over it has also worked on goats and my old dog.

The paperwork doesnt say.  Just Heatwave x Full Flush-F22. There were two steers and a couple of heifers that had this same information by their name.

He has an awful clip job...probably because they had so many to do...and they werent broke. Also this picture was taken after a dirt storm and we had only had him for three days.  My son couldnt get him up to the regular tie so he tied him to the fence.  Jill, do you know the parentage of this...

    all opinions please..

We bought this calf at a sale in the Panhandle of Texas.  Most of the calves there were ranging in the 7500.00 all the way to 24000.00.  I had never been to a club calf sale and was suprised by the cost.  This particular calf cost 1000.00 and he is not broke, but is pretty docile.  He is better...
