This calf was born this morning.  At 6 am it was up and nursing.  Went to work.  I went out at 5 pm tonight to tag and weigh it and found this. Found nothing else.  No traces of blood or anything.  Just the bottom half of a calf.

We order our trophies for our local fair from a particular company.  Last year we asked them to do 3 banners for supreme champions and they came out pretty poor.  They have told us they probably won't be able to improve on that as it is not their specialty.  Not looking for anything super...

So in short the 12 ply will probably wind up lasting longer (almost all dirt and gravel at my place) than the 8 ply.  So the added savings isn't really savings at all as I will have to replace them sooner.  Back to the old you get what you pay for thought process.

Just bought a used skidsteer that needs new tires.  I have been pricing tires for the last two days over the phone.  Is it possible to get by with 8 ply, or do they pretty much  have to be 12 ply?  Found a guy that has 8 ply tires of the same brand as another that has 12 ply at about $300 cheaper.

I have been to this sale a couple of times, and it is a really nice well run sale. With the three breeds and bulls, heifers and bred cows available in each there is something available for everyone.

A couple of other notes that haven't been touched on if you are learning. Find yourself an actual physical femal reproductive tract.  They usually have one in training sessions whether it is from ABS, Bovine Elite, or someone else.  It is very helpful in visualizing exactly what you are doing...
