Got hit by lightning on lease in Texas.

One of the owners of the bull has a few spring born calves down in Texas. Heard he had a black motley face that was pretty cool and some smokes. I think his name is Hale.

I won't say they are a miracle worker, but they do help out a good bit. Also seems to mellow out the calves with a little attitude.

How old is she?

I like the White Paint but can't stand the adhesives. Haven't used anything else.

It really depends on how the calf fleshes. Personally we feed Breeder Grower the whole way through and if we have one that needs a little more cover will feed Barley Base. With that said, I've never had one not get fat enough on BG. If you have one that needs that frame burned on down, go ahead...

Is anybody heading back east and have room on a trailer or know anyone? Or anybody need anything brought back from the Iowa sales?

Question for those of you who saw the set. I went through the set Saturday and one question stuck in my head throughout the whole group, and that was, will they get big enough???? Those of you that went through them in person what do you think?

Umbarger Show Feeds has a couple of creep feeds that are really good imho.

DLZ, Saw the set today and there is an Ali heifer that would make a cow. Best set I've seen has been Healys without a doubt.

Look at Vogels site (  showsteers.com/vogel  ). They always have some top end calves that do well all year.

If your are in cotton country and the crop isn't totally ruined, look into gin trash. It runs about the same values as hay, but you can just dump it on the ground and feed it as you go. Good stuff and cows eat it good.

This is an outside opinion as I don't live in these areas, but my guess would be this is a chance for farmers who have faced lots of tough times to make a little money in there view.

Im pretty sure he died a couple months after that chat. Either way, he ans gis clones produce the bestin the business so who cares, everyone knows people call the clone calves originals. Good ones are good ones no matter what.

Depends on how you feed imho. Haven't heard any horror stories, but its all in the mgt imho. Also how good a relationship do you have with your vet?

I agree on Hannibal and sunseeker, but make sure the cows have the rib and depth before using those. Manchild also popped in my mind until I read they need some thickness and this is something he just doesn't add imho.
