Adobe products are the standard for professional editors.  I would recommend going with photoshop elements, because it builds a good base and familiarity with adobe products.

I have a few questions on how this would work.  You need internet access where you are going to place the video camera, so either via a ethernet cable or wifi.  Then all you need is 110 volt outlet and the camera will work. You can check the camera from your smartphone.
