    SAV Resource 1441

Thanks Airgator. The Resource Full Sib that is gaining momentum up here is SAV Renown.  Same as you say about Recharge - supposed to be cleaner fronted, more extension.  Personally I prefer the Resource look to the longer fronted types.  The longer the neck, the deeper the feed bunk. (pop)...

    SAV Resource 1441

That is a pretty good looking bull.  I've got a yearling Resource son that I used heavily last year, picture below.  His Dam is a HF Kodiak 5R daughter (Canadian bull). Next pic is my Bullseye son. I haven't used a bunch of Connealy bulls.  We did use Connealy Imprint heavily one year.  Calves...

    SAV Resource 1441

I guess that would depend on what you goals are.  If you're looking for performance and EPD's I've seen quite a few calves from the MOGCK Bullseye bull that I like. https://www.accelgen.com/catalog/semen-beef/014an00399/english/mogck-bullseye/  Not sure he's a "show ring" bull but they still...

    SAV Resource 1441

We have used him extensively.  My parents have had about 100 Resource calves now and to my knowledge none have been assisted.  BW would avg 90lbs (never had one get to 100lbs) up here in MB, Canada.  Daughters are calving now and have fantastic udders and are great mommas.  Resource will...

    2016 CWA Regina SK

I watched a good portion of the show.  I'm an Angus guy but I judged the Shorthorn show in Brandon this fall so I was curious how this judge would place many of the same cattle.  He was maybe a bit unconventional but certainly not overly negative.  I don't think he hurt your breed in any way. ...

    Traveler 004 daughter

I've had a lot of experience with those bloodlines but what are your goals?  Do you want more or less frame/performance, or stay the same?  Calving ease, docility etc also will play a role.  The Rito bloodlines (see SAV Resource and his sibs for proof) seem to compliment the 004 daughters really...

    Flush Option for Angus Cow?

Updated pics of the progeny.  First pic is an ET calf that resulted from my flush.  She's coming along nicely.  Extremely docile, excellent hair, feet, and structure.  Awesome Angus character in her head.  Class winner at our fall show here in MB.  I think she's got a bright future. Second and...

FINAL UPDATE FROM ROYAL Heifer difficult to setup and won't stand still in ring

That's quite a heifer.  Congrats on the hard work and success.  Sometimes it's even more rewarding when the heifer challenges you and you can still be at the top.  (clapping)

    feeding a show bull

In my experience you'd want more than 13% protein for bull calves.  Could be supplemented with a lick tub or the like.  The original questions was about feeding yearling bulls, which is a whole different animal. Presumably a yearling had been breeding and would need to recover lost muscle mass...

Thoughts on this steer calf. Yellow jacket x Point taken

I don't mind him in the picture but his video isn't flattering.  His hip structure is very poor.  He breaks right in front of the hip and almost looks disconnected from his rear third. That will only get worse as he gains weight.

Looking for help at the NILE in Billings, MT

Room and board maybe but your flights are a tough pill to swallow!

    PVF Insight produces bull calves

FYI you're calf isn't the only one...I'll just leave it at that.  (pop)

    PB Hereford Steer

Congrats Larissa.  Steer looked really good. Gargan - I'd agree with your assessment.  He'd be a pretty competitive straight bred steer. Not enough masculinity (even for March) to be a very valuable breeding bull in my opinion.

    Been Hiding this one...

Newer pic of her. Once she starts to belly down and put on some hair she's going to really be a tank.

My Angus show hfr. I like her does anyone else

She's really packed on some pounds since the first pic you sent me.  Looking good.

My Angus show hfr. I like her does anyone else

You already know that I do but I'll say it again.  In an ideal world, I'd clean up her neck a shade for the show ring but as a cow prospect she's the right kind.  She'll do great things for you.

The quiet ones are more fun!

    Hahaha! That's awesome.  (clapping)

    Angus show bull and heifer

The heifer looks the part.  She'll be on the smaller size but you can probably get away with it.  The bull is going to look little out there I think.  He needs a fair bit more condition on him before then as well.

    Best Deal you've found!

That's awesome.  Mind sharing a pic of her.  I'm intrigued.  Why do you think she sold so low?

what to breed angus cow to

She is pretty plain in her make-up.  Gonna need a pretty powerful clubby bull to get a steer that'll be competitive.
