Ringworm is another reason some leave that hair.  Some shows (Denver) won't let you through check in with visible ringworm.  Leave the hair until after check in, clip their heads with a short guard, scrub the ringworm, and nobody seemed to care.

Yes, it is a dose by weight so yes, same thing.  You really don't have to worry about giving them too much.  I don't see it as something that will kill one.  I see it as more of the type of thing that they won't eat if you get too carried away.

Dark.  If you want to keep flies away, make it dark in the barn. Flies don't like the dark. You will still have flies, but they won't be on your cattle if they are in the dark.

I really hope that someone can put together a HAIRED show for those kids and cattle.  Some of those steers were bought for that show and won't do particularly well at the slick shows.  I guess maybe county fairs would be an option for some of them?  I really don't know. What a nightmare.

I have not heard anything one way or another.  I would guess that the Junior Shows will go barring any type of disaster with Covid.  It will likely fall on the State of Colorado and what their Governor is seeing or feeling.
