    Any Rumor mill calves?

Thank you, Telos, for your kind words pertaining to Rumor Mill.  We (Blind Badger, Shea Geffert, Bob May, and myself) believe he has and will continue to sire progeny that will not only be accepted well in showring, but also more importantly, in production.  With his genetic make-up, we feel he...

    Any Rumor mill calves?

With the positive Rumor Mill calf reports I have been receiving, I thought I would take this opportunity to post two pictures of his offspring.  The first picture is a Rumor Mill x Eye Candy x Northern Improvement bull calf that has gained quite a bit of interest; the second picture is a Rumor...

    Rumor Mill on heifers

Thank you for your interest in Rumor Mill; we appreciate it.  As is the case with ALL bulls, one needs to be aware of birthweights and potential for bigger calves.  However, after two year's worth of usage and sample of offspring, I can, without hesitation, concur that Rumor Mill is heifer...

    Any Rumor mill calves?

Thank you for using Rumor Mill ... We, too, have been quite pleased with how quickly his calves have gotten up to nurse and how vigorous they seem to be.  I wanted to take this opportunity to post two pictures of Rumor Mill progeny; from what we have seen, his calves continue getting better with...

    Best Clean Bull for Steers?

We and the other owners of Rumor Mill (Blind Badger, Shea Geffert, and Bob May) have bred heifers to Rumor Mill with no problems whatsoever; the calves have ranged in weight from 62 to 82 pounds.  They come easily, for they are small-headed and smooth-shouldered.  Both calves pictured were out...

    Best Clean Bull for Steers?

This being Rumor Mill's second calf crop, many people may not be as familiar with or have seen the number of offspring as some of the other bulls being considered.  From what we have seen, Rumor Mill is siring calves with thickness, skeletal and structural correctness, dimension, and phenomenal...

Irish Wiskey X Meyer Heifer (Opinions Please)

Some older black high percentage Maine-Anjou bulls that, in my opinion only, will downsize frame, add body, and thickness are Wonder, a DJ Reflector x Powerplant son, Taz, and Maine Break. Again, these are older Maine-Anjou genetics that worked well for our operation, and I believe still have a...

Irish Wiskey X Meyer Heifer (Opinions Please)

We are quite fortunate to have 10 units of FR Magic 179X semen in our tank; we, too, have embryos from a past donor cow, MCG Krystal, a Goldstream 5T daughter, and FR Magic. I am planning on putting in some of those eggs for 2014 calves. Of course, I am hoping for females.

Irish Wiskey X Meyer Heifer (Opinions Please)

Congratulations on obtaining a genetic powerhouse ... Now the fun part begins. In our operation, we have had success with implementing older Maine-Anjou genetics combined with some of the more recent Maine genetics. For calving ease without sacrificing style and substance, Maine Break has been a...

    Mercedes Benz

If you are referring to Rumor Mill's calving ease and his calves' birthweights, the calves have ranged in weight from 65 to 75 pounds.  The calves have come easily, for they have been smooth shouldered and small headed.  They have been lively and vigorous soon after birthing.  Of course, there...

Bulls to Use for a 2nd calving...

[color=maroon][b]Since Rumor Mill was one of the bulls you mentioned, I wanted to show you a son of his that will be shown and sold in the Bright Lights Maine-Anjou Bull Sale at Denver.  He is out of a Major's Money Man dam.  We have been fortunate to see heifers, steers, and bulls that look...

    Where did $148,000 heifer go?

Mark,         Yes, I am quite confident in Rumor Mill's ability to consistently sire low birth weights; this past season's calves ranged in weight from 65 to 75 pounds. The calves were small-headed and smooth-shouldered. From the calves we have seen or heard about, none was red. I would believe...

    Where did $148,000 heifer go?

In the sale report, it read that lot 1, a Rumor Mill x Hard Core heifer, sold for $145,000.  The comma was placed at the wrong spot; she actually brought $14,500.  We were very pleased with how the Rumor Mill calves sold as a whole.  Pat Wolfe
