alternative leg fitting method?

i have always used sullivans prime time adhesive to glue legs, i am just wondering if anyone knows of a different method or product i could use. i have ran into problems with glue. any ideas or products???

You could go back to the old Amway glycerine bars.  At least it washed out easy.  I'm far from an expert, but I don't see anything but adhesive of some sort on the legs.

if you train the hair very well im sure u could use hair spray... but steirwalts have a line of fitting equipment

Well, i always wash cattle very thurally after i've glued their legs, but i tend to find if im away for the weekend with multiple shows to go to, the leg hair is the shit when the second show comes along because i have washed it the night before.

What do you take it out with?  Hocus Pocus is pretty tough on hair.  I like EZAll, it's a little pricey though.  But it's more gentle, you an blow it out then run water on it for a long time and use minimal soap to cut the rest of the oil.  Make sure you are conditioning and/or using show sheen to put the oil back in the hair after washing too.

prime time or medium adhesive for long soft hair and tail or strong adhesive for short coarse hair that wont stand up and to take it all out we use ez all and a comb then wash combing or blowing it helps alot

i show angus cross cattle and this year i showed a steer with really short, flat hair. at least he had the goods.  ;D

I have no patience and generally go straight for the tail.  (lol) And less steps if I know I'm going to coat it with tail anyway.

i have a red heifer so i cant put that much adhesive  or it will tint the hair lol 

the white leg builder "ultra white" drys the adhesive and makes the hair bigger around to see and fills in the gaps

Belly and body, i dont even use it on the legs. Pretty much the order in which i grab the products.

Ah, that makes sense.  Brain is beyond fried today, forgive me. 

I did learn that if you are fitting black cattle that can't be painted and get them too white, Prime Time over the tail can help take some of the white tint out.  Haven't had to try it yet, but have been told it works!
