Diamond Zulu 3Z pictured at 16 1/2 months yesterday. Other than a million mosquitoes I think he is loving life (thumbsup)  Also for comparison a photo of Zulu last year at 3 months.

That is by far the biggest and best three month old calf I've ever seen. Also looks good as a yearling. He's a monster. Very impressive. What  is his BW? Will semen be available?

He is a very good looking bull. Like Telos said he was freaking huge as a 3 month old, at least the pic gives him that appearance.

wow! that's impressive. I love the muscle expression on him. And like XBAR, the first thing I noticed was how masculine he looks! Who were his sire and dam?  (thumbsup)

Hey Dan, am I a year off or was he my pick of the bulls when I was up there? Would have been in the pasture south/west of the house. I really like him either way.

Yes that was him and that was the field he was in!
Larissa we may show him this fall.
Here is his sire and dam and a link to his extended pedigree. He has two full brothers ACC Trooper 3X used at Anwender Cattle Company and Diamond Sergeant York 10Y herd sire at Lang's, Silver Willow Shorthorns.
Thanks everyone for the comments!

He been playing in the mud, or did his nose darken-up a bit, as he matured?

He commands attention, that's for sure!

He had just had a major battle with a mole hill! His nose is still light.

Here is his full brother pictured at Silverwillow Shorthorns, the Langs at Viking on June 14th during the herd tour and barbeque for the Alberta/Canadian meetings. I had left my camera back at the hotel so had to borrow one and just got them emailed to me. He had a promising group of calves on the ground born in April and May.

It is always nice to see pictures of a good bull, but when you see an additional picture of an older full brother, I think you may be onto something pretty good. Both these bulls look very impressive but the pictures of Sergant York was the clincher for me.  These are very good bulls and we need a bunch more like them!

I can't find mature photos of the oldest brother, ACC Trooper 3X but here are of a couple of him when he was younger as well as a yearling bull by Trooper that was one of the high sellers at the Sun Country for $6100. I beleive this bull went to a commercial herd, is that right JIT or Hilltop?

I agree, 4U is pretty exceptional. I've seen several bulls out of him now that appeared way above average.
I think General 4U produces some pretyy exceptional animals as well. We have 3 yearling heifers by him that are looking good. Here is a son that sold in the Sun Country last year to a commercial herd for $7100. I know one of the runner ups was also another commercial producer.

Yes, okotoks, that is right. A commercial producer did purchase a Trooper son at $6100 in the Sun Country Sale.
