I can understand why you asked the question, and having daughters, I can understand why some people might find it off-putting. I think it depends on your age...I think it's less appropriate for young girls...say under 15 or 16 and mature enough to understand the difference between literal translation and having a sense of humor. I assume the heifer's name was "Dirty Girl"?...and I think putting it on the buckle was intended as tongue-in-cheek. I don't think the maker of the buckle meant for it to be translated as a label like a scarlet A sewn on your dress...
