Okay I need a new big set of clippers so i went to sullivans today and they have the 3000 premiers for cheap. the flatheads are 200 and the sheepheads are 250. My question is I do alot of clipping and how do the 3000 compar to there 4000 is there a noticable difference? Also I tend to be doing alot of sale clipping this year but need a set of clippers to do heads as well. If I get the sheepheads those could work pretty good on heads as well right?

Iuse the flatheads on heads they are a littlle more forgiving, you could get into trouble using sheepheads on heads as they are a little more phsyco.

I have a pair of the Andis sheepheads and they're nice, but wish they ran faster like my old Osters did.  The Andis don't get as hot and are lighter, but you can't push through the hair as fast or you'll get lines.  If I slow down the Andis do a great job, but back when I used to clip a lot of sale cattle I'd just have two Osters and alternate when one would heat up.  When I was shopping for sheeps the 4000's were very spendy, but maybe they've come down some.  The Sullivan's guy recommended against the new version of the Osters and said the Andis were the best choice at the time.

My flatheads haven't been out of the box since my last pair of Osters broke for the last time, and I can't remember the time before that.  I really should just sell them.

3000's are junk... and not just with a sheep head...  I do alot of work with sheep heads, and I don't even like the 4000s...  To me, Andis makes the best clipper...  premier's don't have enough power...

Wahl, has a newer type clipper, that seems to be good... had a rep approach me at NAILE and ask if i'd like to try it out...  I thought it worked real well... only problem was it doesn't have a sheep head attachment...  He said they have the same clipper in a different style coming out that has both heads...  they will be on my xmass list for that year...  I am tired of dealing with the junky premiers.  I have two sets of andis, and love them...  Also have the old school osters, and still carry my premiers around with me...  Never know which set you're going to need...  Keep a different head, and different set of blades on each one, so I don't have to keep switching blades...  Just pick up a different clipper

I had a lot of trouble out of my andies sheepheads, I kept stripping the plastic drive gear. Other than that the andies are good shears, they vibrate a lot less than the old osters but i have yet to have the first minute of trouble out of my premiers

That sounds like something I would say.. only opposite brand names...  I shear 5-600 sheep per year also in addition to my cattle tinkerings...  If you want to discuss pure power- andis surfaces...  Premiers don't come close.  They might just have too much power for you doing just hair (lol)

its a good thing that the premiers had a lifetime warranty.. the first year i bought them, mine got sent back in 4 times becuase of the stipped out plasic gear- been sent back twice since the first year... (mainly cuz I almost quit using them)...  been running two pairs of andis for the same time period (5 or 6 years), and haven't sent em back in yet!

I had a set of Premier 4000 and ran them about 12 times before I traded them off. Not impressed at all but they had good trade in value. RW

Had a set of Premier 3000's gaven to me as a xmas present, didn't like them AT ALL, they got sold real quick and bought 3 sets of older sets of osters. Now have ave 7 sets for clipping sale cattle, and am having troubles with 4 sets, so glad I have some extra clippers to steal parts off of.
