I noticed that there were several maternal bros to JPJ being advertised. Are they transplanting his dam? Who owns her? Is she consisent? Would she work with a Red Angus bull?
I could be wrong (shocker) but I think Farrer Stock Farm at least bought a flush on her? They bred the brother to JPJ at Byland I think? This is just a guess from the ads I have seen. I would think she would work great on some RA. Try something different like Shoco Data or HXC bull. Jackhammer or Steakmaster? Maybe High Capacity224? Mulberry would obviously work too. That would be some cool calves IMO.
garybob my mothers family from outside Clinton, Tenn would say yall. I believe that to be the true Ozarkian lingo. I love that area of America. Great people.

I'm from West Tennessee where we say "y'all", but went to school at MTSU in middle Tennessee. Hearing my friends in school from different parts of the state, I decided that "Y'uns" is an East Tennessee word. (lol)

I've heard it down here in AL and GA...I could walk across either state line from the house, and we are about as backwoods as it gets around here.  Goobersmooch is my personal favorite local word though

Goobersmooch, defined by the Lawson Mozley's Incomplete Guide to Southern Redneckisms as:

a mildly insulting term used mostly towards friends, taken literally it means "one who kisses peanuts" but that meaning has never been used to the best of my knowlege

<cowboy>

(friend does/says something stupid)

You goobersmooch!

Yes, it is real my friends.

I'm kinda partial to the little roan Major Leroy bull calf that is shown in our ad. He is pretty soggy, sound and eye candy

This seems to be as good a place as any to ask this so here goes:

What shorthorn bull would ya'll recommend to breed to some angus/simm/maine heifers for super calves without being monstrous birthweights?  I feel that the steer rings are about to start seein some color in the winners circle and this year's AI calves are the best cattle that I own by far and all should make great mamas.

One is a Jazz out of a simangus cow, the others are Chill factor son (out of a simm cow) daughters out of simangus cattle and one with a touch of hereford.

Also might keep a CF daughter out of a 1/4 maine, 1/4 simm, 1/2 angus cow rather than selling her for show.

I ask ya'll because I know that you'll offer honest observations without tryin to sell semen on a particular bull.

I have no idea, but the only people I ever heard say it were from East Tennessee.  If you ever spend any time in Tennessee you'll find that East, Middle and West are three distinct regions in alot of ways.  At school I found that dialect was a big one.  I never heard a water hose referred to as a "hose pipe" til I went to school there either.  My roomate from the middle section introduced me to that word. (lol)

I've always thought of " y'all " as a Southern saying , with " y'uns " as a hillbilly word. I didn't realize a hose pipe was called anything else! lol ;D

I've researched my ancestry, and determined that the first settlers from the Ozarks came from Eastern Appalachia. Does that explain it? Y'all is from Cotton Country, Y'uns is from the Upland South.

That's my nickel's worth.

I think all of you talk funny!  LOL  In Minnesota, they think us Iowegians have a drawl.  Really, though, I can understand all Southerners except the goofy coach in The Waterboy and appreciate the way everybody speaks except the Easterners with their Baahhston accent!

They also say yuns in Pittsburgh and other parts of Pennsylvania-it has been mentioned to me that it eminates from certain eastern european peoples who are the inspiration of many Midwestern jokes Such As: did you hear about the yuns who locked his keys in the car? Took em 8 hours to get his family out O0 <beer>

Probably the jazz line on that composite type  will give as much hair as anything. Roans or blues with hair usually attracts the steer customer. Jazz is very proven . If you want breeding stock pm me.
