There are tons of discussions on this topic under the search function.

Here are a few though an til you master search function.
Northern Improvement
SS Traveler T510
Those are my favorites.
We have had luck with Gizmo as well and Jake's Proud Jazz.

You are on the right track using a proven calving ease sire. You are establishing the heifers reproductive future

One more peice of advice. Do some research on your heifer. As the bull is only half of equation. You can still get a biggin' out of a calving ease sire so choose carefully. Look back at her pedigree and see what the birthweights were like in her family tree. There are alot of Black and Red Angus bulls that are great calving ease sires. We haven't messed with the Maine's as much.

Wolf I'm sorry that I don't have any sire suggestions for you. But, in case you are new at this please pay PARTICULAR attention to the fact that she is a heifer.  An example of what could happen, is in the posts from SKF.  I  am waiting on a calf now, should be here in a couple weeks. I  was determined that my heifer was going to bred to a heatwave. Luckily, I had  *some* sense about it  ( which rarely happens :) ) and found out that it would probably  kill that old heifer.  But you'll get lots of knowlegable answers here  . Have a great night.

you could get along pretty well with witch doctor. we just calved a dr who x heatseeker heifer to our PB maine bull out of Hard Core and it must have slid right out, I didn't even know she had it in between the 10 minutes or so of her laying down, even though it was born dead or died extremely fast. thats what I would do.

Major's Money Man works well on those Dr. Who heifers..I know I've stated it before.  I just seen a bunch of neat ones this past fall with the Money Man x Dr. Who
