I am leaning toward using all rogers bulls this year for my breeding season and wondering witch one are one(s) are the best. Anything would be appreciative. Thanks

That post was referring to the age of his cow if I am not mistaken.

I have to agree with CAB. Everyone needs to start somewhere and you have to give him some credit for his enthusiasm. The industry can always use more youngsters like that. However, he has been give many good options and needs figure out what he wants in the calf. Then use a bull that gives him the best chance to get what he wants.

I don't understand why some of you are trolling on his threads if his questions bother you so much? Just ignore them and bite your tongue. There is a difference between being a child and being childish! Carlson put some thought and effort into your post and you will avoid some of the criticism. Figure out the direction you want to go with your herd and that should narrow down the decisions. I am no expert but maybe who made who or dr.who. Steers or heifers you should end up with something respectable.

There isn't a whole lot of difference...80% of both are gunna go back to Heatwave.

Where do you live in Iowa? Maybe somebody will see it and take you under their wing... When I was your age I had a couple experienced guys help me and to this day they still answer questions and give me refreshers. Everyone can learn til the day they die. Do your parents have much experience in cattle? Mine did not so I know what it was like to start from scratch. Its been 15 years now and we are just getting a program built. It takes time and luck.
