Hi from southern Brazil.
Need more info about BLENVIEW CHASER 204C.
Semex will sale semen of this guy here.
Know that is by Waco 6WT (Sonny/Trump) out of a Pure Gold 3N cow.
+6 BW DEP.
More comments will to be useful.
Thanks for your kindness.

CSI, why on earth, judging by your previous posts, would you be interested in anything with Sonny and Trump in the pedigree!
I have had poor results with the Shadybrook Powerplay and Crawfdown Fighter Pilot semen from Semex in the past, both have Trump in their pedigrees and the calves had terrible 'hard calving' heads, were 'slab-sided' and never packed fat, the classic definition of 'hard-doing' and 'hard-calving' cattle. Added to that was the fact that Powerplay was from a DSC dam, I dumped the semen I had not used.
Having looked at the asterisk free bulls in their international line-up, I still think Yesterday is the best bet, and I therefore ordered more of his genetics.
To me, that <6 frame score is the best thing ever in my conditions. Couple that with a programme that uses its own genetics in a linebreeding type programme and you have an outcross, purebred, asterisk-free Shorthorn bull on your doorstep/in your tank.
What more can you ask for?

He was and outstanding bull calf last year when they showed him. He won the senior bull calf division at the Royal winter fair in Toronto last fall totally out powered the rest of the bull calves. Probably should have had a shot at the champion bull. He's got lots of guts, bone and natural muscle as any shorthorn bull out there. Could possible be the best shorthorn in Semexs lineup. I have seen his dam in person really nice cow. Great uddered has plenty of milk. Females out of him should make great cows.

As others say he had some things about him that you liked. But he also had some bad structure issues aswell, his front feet toe out east and west as straight out as a compass. He was also plenty big for a few calf. I wonder if they will have him at tro to again this year

If you watch him in the video you will see his front feet don't " toe out east to west " like a compass in my mind. Most likely won't be shown again since Semex now owns him and will be collecting him for world. He has uses for different people. His CE epd sucks because his sires is high and his dams sires is also very high.

Thanks Dunc!
Not have interest in use it, just for their ancestor as you mentioned.
Unfortunatelly is what Semex will offer to Brazil this year. I was looking for Cabrera 24 semen, OK, also was my perfect bull, but show a more interested pedigree to me.
Asked more details as here in SP we get more details than that offer on semen catalogues.
Thanks for your commebt!
Appreciated!

Matt it is alittle tricky to see it in the video but you can see he dose not get off his front end right.I personally saw him in Toronto, and bob gobble even commented on how he toed out abit, but it was actually a lot, and that will not get better as a yearling or as he matures. In my opinion he is not going to be a breeding bull, the calves will be similar to the talledega calves more clubby is where he has his place but he is not the right direction the shorthorns need to go.

I wouldn't call this bull a good representation of Trump genetics. If anything I would say its really watered down Trump genetics. Waco can be okay at times , but Sonny is pretty far down on the list of best Trump sons. The Diamond Helena Dottie 12H and the DF Starlet 1K cow families In this bull as well and that couldn't help him.

He definatly doesn't travel right looks like he is to straight in his shoulders and pretty big shouldered. I don't have a dog in the fight here but there's a lot better bulls out there that don't have that amount of sheath or look that hard doing.

Just curious why you think the Helena Dottie cow and the Starlet cow doesn't help him any?

I'm just going off of what the experts are saying up top. Apparently he's got some issues

"If you'll pause the video at about :06-:07, you'll see why he has a -3 CE EPD" I'm guessing this is about his shoulder design.

"If you watch him in the video you will see his front feet don't " toe out east to west " like a compass in my mind." That's not very good structure.

"calves had terrible 'hard calving' heads, were 'slab-sided' and never packed fat, the classic definition of 'hard-doing' and 'hard-calving' cattle. " similar trump breedings have also had a bad outcome.

All I'm saying is even the Diamond Helena Dottie 12H and the DF Starlet 1K couldn't help him. Great cow families can only do so much.

My bad. The way I read it was you were saying they were a negative in the pedigree.

Many of us do not have a bull that will place ahead of that flashy calf in the show ring.  It is not everyone's choice to show and breed show cattle.  However, one of the functions of the show ring is to evaluate soundness, and many judges are very capable of that.  Most show cattle are powerful in their muscle and bone--usually there is some BW that goes with that territory as well as a more muscular shoulder.  Anytime a stud purchases a Shorthorn bull it is good that they can sell some semen.

If functional cattle are your top priority, some show cattle fit that, and some do not.  Yes, in a perfect world, cattle do not toe out, but that will not stop him from breeding cows, will it?  Cattle that toe in are worse.  The structural fault that is terminal and often tolerated is post legged.  If a bull is too posty, he will stifle when breeding a cow, and then he is done.

Every show ring bloodline has cattle with some practical and some not so much.  One of the best Shorthorn cows I ever saw was by a bull that I refused to use.  Dominant show lines have something to offer, if showing and winning is your goal.  I like to think that the Shorthorn breed is diverse enough to offer both show ring type and also those bred entirely for commercial.  Who can say that Chaser won't breed some fine cattle?  There are some great females back in his pedigree.

Unfortunately the shorthorn breed is not diverse enough and the show bloodlines  only care about long necked cattle that are pretty but those cattle are hard doing and man made a lot of times. As for Waco cattle there was also another Waco heifer sold for a large amount not mentioning where or who but they will have to watch what paddock she is in if there are lots of mole holes around cause she will fall in and break a leg her foot is so small and she is suppose to be backed by a great cow family aswell

From reading the post I thought it was about a bull that was being discussed since there is potential semen being sold on him throughout the world. With someone trying to get more info on him to see if it would work in his program.  Not about a heifer calf that sold for good money.  if it's the heifer I am thinking your talking about, there had to be more then one person trying to buy her if she sold for that price.

The biggest problem I had with Waco himself was that he had very small feet for his size. I used Waco in some flushes and have had a few Waco offspring and have yet to see one of his progeny with the same issues as he had. My Waco calves have all had great feet. Maybe I got lucky, but his feet were a major concern to me ( and several others) when he was shown. I saw him again a year later after he had been breeding cows all summer and he still appeared to have very small feet. I flushed to him, because I had the opportunity to share in the flushes with some other breeders and the semen was provided. I have also heard some breeders comment about poor udders on Waco daughters. I have 3 in production now, and I don't think you could draw better udders than these three have.

Why sell a -CE bull worldwide.

Better off trying to get some somatic cells from Cunia semen and cloning him and selling him as a 3/4 shorthorn.
