Breeding Suggestions, Please

We are going to AI soon and I am at a lost on what to breed this heifer too. She is purebred shorthorn sired by Proud Star. She is moderate framed, big boned, sound, big bellied but, does not have the best tail head set and she gets knocked for not being very feminine. Other then that she does show well always in the top of her class and was Res. at our county.  I want something calving ease and I was thinking maybe angus but, I do not angus genetics since we breed clubby so I have no clue who would match up well with her. Open to any suggestion as long as its calving ease and THF. Thank you!!!

  Take a look at Frisky Whiskey from Roger's. He is THF / PHAC. I have seen and heard of many good calves out of him. 65 lb BW and Wade says that he is CE. There are a slug of very good Angus bulls available.

After seeing the calves from him and they have all been small, No Worries is what I would breed.  Ali and Whiskey Genetics in a double clean package.  I think Executive is still carrying sexed on him too if you have to have a heifer. Both bull and heifer calves are good and marketable.

Moto Moto looks like it could be an interesting breeding. What is frame size and I don't think I have ever seen a Galloway before but, how do they do in the heat. We live in south Florida and we love hair while we are showing but, I need something that eventually can be in the pasture producing during the heat. Such a big decision because she is our favorite. I hate thought about No Worries but, we have a No Worries out of a Vegas and he was not as small as everyone else's No Worries calves. Still may take a chance and use him but, looking for some other options.

Moto Moto measured 54 1/2 inches as a coming 3 yr old weighing 2,020 lbs. That puts him at a frame 5.

Galloways born in the south or taken down there as calves and yearlings, do just fine in the heat and humidity.  Galloways are very adaptable to different climates.

For an Angus, I'd give Hoover Dam a try.  His calves have been very consistent for me.  They have good natural thickness and the heifers are feminine.

Try Hot Commodity. Still have a purebred Shorthorn, got calving ease and then the calves really come on. I'm super pleased with ours and going to use him some more.

For angus Connealy Confidence. I am breeding all heifers to him. His calves will grow and have a lot of style.

Opportunist or American Classic on the Angus. 

I 80 or Ali will knock that tailhead down as well as any Maine cattle around.

He is THF but DSH. I would not use ANY PHC bulls on this female an til you test for DS. The most severe mutations with DS have been on PHC cows and DSC bulls vice versa. Think about this when planning your mating. You do not want a calf that is a throw away at the start.

Look for a bull that is going to add some feminity to her front one half. Love the females depth of body and condition. I don't think her tail head is all that bad.
Lakeside Nitro would be an interesting choice on her. Proven calving ease.
