Hahaha, that is a funny take on a not very funny situation.
Having sold a lot of freezer beef over the years, especially back home at mom and dads I have ran into this before.
We always sold our beef off of whatever the hanging weight was reported to be by the processing facillity and explained to customers that's what they were paying based on hanging weight and that there would be some shrinkage, trim etc.
We had one customer 4 or 5 years ago that called back after he got his meat and found that their was much less than the hanging weight he had paid fo (he apparently weighed it out on his bathroom scale)
The weight he claimed to have picked up from the plant did not make sense at all.
We ended up picking up the meat from him and refunding his money.
I suspect there was a box missing somewhere.
