Is cloud 9 going to be the best bull for breeding " club calf " like shorthorns? Cates think he will work well considering most of there cows are bred to him. Also because they were both in Denver anyone have reports on Damn Proud? Kevin mears said he judged a show and the champ feeder calf was a damn proud.

Are Cates into the clubby thing now?  I thought they were breeding cattle. Are they shifting gears some? Just not sure why you say they are going clubby with breeding a lot of cows to Cloud 9.

From the looks of his calves I think he will breed much like his sire - Vegas. Looks like he works great on the Shorties but I sure would like to see him bred to some of the Stockman angus cows like Sully has !

JMO, but it looks like since Tyler has been more involved in decision making process they have been more open to using carrier bulls.

cloud 9 is the maternal brother to df waco. I saw both bulls  and donor dam ( dottie)  in person 2 yrs ago. Cloud 9 was very hairy.

Waco had plenty of frame... his testicle size as a coming two yr old was impressive too . Dottie sold well in the dispersal sale. Sorry I dont have the figures.

Seems like the same old frame 7 and 8 type shorthorn that gets recycled out of the frozen embryo banks every year.......that might be to big framed for the clubbies.

Ive got some that need a larger clubby bull-that isnt a cow killer-its a moot point on Cloud Nine-hes probably not available-I quit taking the Country etc-so Im out of the loop-but things dont seem to have changed at all in the past 5 years from what I can see. O0

I'm with you, I remember breeder style shorthorns there when my Soon and I attended the sale, but don't remember this cow as that tall.

I do remember the wind....Thought we might all blow away, I think they only lost one big tree branch on a brand new truck, but inside the shed it sounded like 100 mph.
