I respectfully disagree.  I think people will use him for the same reasons people use th carriers.  The people that use these bulls don't care that they are dirty.  I am not criticizing those people as long as they represent the calves as terminal.  People used Warrant, and he was double dirty.  If he sires high sellers and some winners, he will sell a lot of semen.  I would say that he will sire some good ones based on who the owners are.  I bought some thriller semen because I would like to raise a steer, but I need to keep replacements and don't want defects in my fledgling herd.

The bull has been at John Pluths in Estherville being cared for, which is about 5 hours from me.  Goretska was supposed to clip him for Denver the day we got a foot of snow, and they couldn't get him down here to clip.  He was just barely fat enough to go to Denver anyway, and on top of all that I got really sick and wanted to die!  So we punted.

Why b & w?......It just looks better to me, and it's DIFFERENT.....the bright yellow color of the straw took away from the bull, and the exposure wasn't as perfect as I would have liked.  You can't tell it in black and white as much. I'm TRYING to post the color pic, but can't get it to upload.....

TJ was a high % Simmental that went back to Meyer Blacktop I think.  The carrier comes from the great granddam, which was a red Maine cow that came out of Montana that they didn't know for sure what was.

Pretty easy answer......"The plumbers sink has always got the drip!"  I've been working on everyone elses, and haven't got my own done.

We video'd him in a small pen at Goretska's.....not sure how good it will be......Tracy had 13 inches of snow and it was piled EVERYWHERE.  I'm gonna make a video collage of him as a calf in MAY.....again in September.....and current footage.

I would definately use the BW photo.  The straw draws your eye away from the bull.    I happen to prefer a good BW photo anyway.

B&W would be my choice in this case, too. The straw blends in better with the white background and is not so contrasty.

The straw in the foreground is important. It anchors the bull. But that detail in the background over his head, neck and point of shoulder may not be necessary. You might try simplyfing the image by taking that background away (or over exposing it to were it's a shade lighter then the straw) to see what happens. Just a thought. <cowboy>
