We bred 10 first calf heifers to Daddy's Money. All of the heifers are 1000lbs +, and are Sim/Maine/ Angus crossed. 4 of the heifers have calved and we have had to pull all of them! Lost one calf, 3 others are doing ok. All 4 have been Bulls. Calves are all 85lb plus with huge heads and front shoulders. Wondering if anyone else is having these kind of issues with Daddy's Money calves? We had thought his calves we not going to be as large. All of these Daddy's Money calves have been as big or bigger than our Walks Alone/ Rodger That/ MAB calves we have had out of our cows. The cows are bred the same way as the heifers.

I think your cows' genetics may have added to his power. I've always thought he was going to sire some stout calves but no cow killers. I liked Daddys Money but think his full brother might be more practical with a tick more refinement in structure.

Were your heifers super fat? fed hard?  I would think he should be throwing a lot less bw.  Dam's make up 1/2 the equation.

3 yr old Sherriff Taylor x NAGE Forecast had a 72 pound heifer
4 yr old Special Delivery x Warrant (suspect she is THC) had a 113 pound bull

Our heifers are not fat and were not fed hard all winter. They are Amen daughters. We calved Amen daughters last spring out of I80 and did not have the size that we are currently getting out of Daddy's Money. The heifers are full or half sisters to last years. The Daddy's Money calves are doing really well once we get them out. Very powerful. What is the name of Daddy's Money's brother?

[/quote] JPF Team Blake. Owned with Martin Livestock And Jon Pettigrew. JPF Code Black sold in Denver is another full brother. IMO, all pretty good bulls.

I guess I will be using Comrade from Select Sires on the clubby bred heifers this year and will try Daddy's Money on the sim/angus maine/angus heifers.
