Favorite bedding for show cattle?

for the show cattle we use straw for bedding. We like it chopped as short as possible. In the tie outs we use mulch w/ a fine layer of sand under it.

I have been thinking for a while about looking into the different kinds of mulch from the firewood company down the street there. I have used sand forever and would like a reasonably economic option. If I find something out from them I will let you know. If you figure something out let me know as well.

Yup I am still out of town should be back either friday or saturday...its just depends if my dad wants to stop or not.

I dont know of any sawmills around this part of the country. That looks like a pretty good deal though.

city has a chipper pile in town you can load out of I load a pick up bed in about 10 minutes with a silage fork throw all the big sticks out and it is free now is the time to go and get some they will be shredding cedar Christmas trees next week works great for me never completly change it just pick up the manure and add to as needed
