Feed & Hair Product For Feeder Calf Steers

I have been out of the show world for a while but my daughter is officially old enough to show. We have a couple of steers to get going.
What feeds does everyone recommend? These calves are right around 45 days old. We are South East Ohio. Also Hair products? Anyone have one they cant live without? We don't have a cool room but we do have a very cool dark barn Thank You
