This is an April heifer out of a Goldmine 2109 bull that we raised, and a Kool x Warhorse cow.  We know she's not going to set the world on fire in the show ring, but we like her an awful lot for a cow. She's not very extreme, but does have a pretty good amount of frame. We would keep her, but the competition in the march class is ridiculously stiff... Anyhow, let me know what you think.. Earlier, I forgot to add that we are selling this heifer in March, but we were wondering if we should push her a little bit and try to show her at the IL Beef Expo in late Feb.  Thanks alot to all that reply!

She looks twisted on her front end to me both as a calf and as of today.  Other than that, not bad.

Thank goodness someone finally agrees with me.  My dad thinks shes just fine off the front, but I think she could be a little better on her fronts.  When we get her hooves trimmed, it might help, but I don't think it will completely fix it.

That being said, I still like this heifer alot.  I kinda posted this pic to see if people thought we should advertise her as a show heifer, or as a replacement heifer.  I personally think shes good enough to do pretty good, especially somewhere where there arent Division Champs from NAILE in the march/april class lol.  Her mom was a really good show heifer, but she waited around a loooong time before she actually came on. I think that this heifer is doing the same thing.  She has an interesting (yet desirable, I believe) pedigree. Her registered name is OFS Candy if anyone would like to look her up.  Thanks again for taking the time to look at her!

I like the calf but iI'll agree with you about the front end. Looks to be pretty straight and could some flex on those front wheels. Looks to have good rib and muscle.

looks like a trypical Warhorse. Somewhat questionable on her front wheels. Get plenty of fill in her. We had on that looked very similar but failed to get her filled properly. I like her!
Have you tested her? My Warhorse is a THC but is PHA free.

The Warhorse is a couple generations back, but yeah, shes free of both. With her dam out of Kool, it was kind of a toss up.  I was thinking that we would push her and show her once before we sell her.  I think she is a pretty good show animal for being out of a straight Waukaru-bred bull.  She will probably get better with time, because her mother wasn't that good until she was almost a year old, and then she was probably the best heifer to never win breed champ that year.

I agree that she's a little shaky on her front but shouldn't be to big of a problem. Over all I think she's a solid calf that looks like she's going to get better with time.

She's probably standing wrong, and, that's why She looks too staright-fronted. You should be keeping her. Those wrinkles on her face make her look broody, even at a young age. She's plenty deep enough, naturally, without somebody stuffing her full of Hulls. Out of all the "show prospects" on here, I like Her the most.

Hey GB, thanks for taking the time to look the heifer over a little bit.  We think that she is extremely broody, and will make an awesome cow.  She really could stand to be better off of her front wheels, but it is a little exaggerated in the picture.  We decided to sell her because we have her mom, and it's my sister's heifer, and she can't really have any more cows.  We really think that the heifer is gonna make someone a nice heifer, and then a really good cow.  Check out my other heifer..she's got her own thread. Thanks again, to everyone
