Futurity Australian Shorthorn Sale

39 of 40 bulls sold, AUD$6280 average, $12,000 top.

Top bull was Futurity Headline (pictured), by The Grove Kingswood W731 (flush brother to TG Kookaburra W735) and from a JR Legend granddaughter. Top 5% scrotal size, top 10% 400- and 600-day weights and Domestic and Northern Indexes, and top 15% 200-day weight.

It would be interesting to see what the bulls actual BW, WW, YW are.

It would be good to know them as a comparison from in one program but it would be very difficult  to compare them with other animals which are raised in other environments (countries). I have seen very popular North american breeders have bulls that are over 100lbs BW (45.35kg) and yearling weights under 900lbs (408.23kg) or the same birth weights with yearling weights over 1200lbs (544.31kg).  One would think that part of this is due to the environmental differences EPDS should help with this. If one was interested I am sure a lot of the studs in Aus would provide actual weights.
