Its cool to get the acknowledgement on one that you raised, but Once the calf leaves your farm or ranch its the new owners choice on who knows were it came from. If people try to bypass the trader and go for the big ticket in the end, you will shoot yourself in the foot. The traders are assuming risk, and have make there margins, if they don't make them with your cattle then they will buy elsewhere. Not trying to stick up for the traders, but they make alot of this game go round. I personally enjoy visiting with the whole cross section of this industry, from Freddy 4-her to the 'big wheels'. I have had good luck with most of the traders keeping me informed on were they went and to who. I also hope they made a boat load off the calve, they WILL be back the next year. I'm falling off my little soapbox now!
