Which bull would throw better calves? Goal is to produce show heifers.  I'm thinking about using one of them on a shorthorn plus cow. Open to opinions on other shorthorn bulls too.

Start off with, welcome to steer planet !
Help to know a little about your cow. Strengths, weaknesses, pedigree, etc.
But just going off knowing nothing, I would say Swagger. I like my HC's but unless your cow has enough bone and power, he will do not add any. If she is stout enough, then he can throw a good one. We showed a HC in the Jr show at TN Agribition show yesterday and stood 3rd behind the Grand Champion that came from Cates and a Greenhorn heifer, but the judge said she gave up some power to those two but he thought she would be the easiest doing cow prospect in the class. I love HC on virgin heifers.
We have several Swaggers in production and they do great and have awesome udders. We had a Swagger heifer that stood 2nd in class both days at L'ville this past fall that calved in January and is doing great.

She's an Angus x Shorthorn (no big names). So she has a lot of depth. She has some mass and average bone. But she needs her shoulders tucked in slightly. Other than that she's looks pretty good. She showed well when she was a calf. I tried to post a pic but my phone wouldn't let me.

I have a thick made Shorthorn plus heifer this year. She is a Trump x MAB. Would it be okay to cross with HC or should I play it save and use an Angus bull?

I wouldn't hesitate on using HC.
