Had a calf that was pulled yesterday and it seems she have nerve  injury to her front leg. The picture include is not her its a picture I found tonight online but, this is exactly what she is doing. We have given some Dex and put a splint on. Anyone else have this problem if so how did you treat it and how long did it take to heal. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!

I had a couple do this.  I started off giving some banamine and working the joint in and out so much.  Has always taken about 2wks.

Had the same type of thing happen to one of our commercial calves last year where it would walk around on the front of both pasterns. I thought for sure we were going to end up giving the calve a bullet but after a couple weeks it come out of it and walked around like it had never happened. Then it went on to be one of the biggest calves at weaning. So I would say you just need a little time like the guy above me said and it will eventually come out of it.

Have had a handful of calves do this.  They all corrected themselves after a few days to a week or so.  If it's having a hard time keeping up with the cow, you might want to pen them to make sure calf is nursing often enough.

Used to have it happen somewhat regularly.....  They always came out of it in a few days.  We may have splinted a couple......

It STOPPED happening when we started half hitching the OB chains so the are two loops.  First main loop above the joint with the ring on top.....  Then between the joint and the top of the hooves we half hitch again hitch on top.    Pulling two spots instead of one.
