Well the snow is letting up now, and I am thanking my lucky stars we didn't have any calves in the middle of it.  I consider that lucky since we have about 30 due in 7 days and 6 have calved so far.
I hope none of you consider the pictures below abuse    I took a couple of pics of our cows up in the woods this afternoon during one of my bihourly checks.  The baby is a 3 day old Angus X Gelbvieh heifer. 
Hope the rest of you came though this "blizzard" ok.  Hear is it supposed to be over 50 degrees by wed.  Welcome to Ohio  ;D

gee, aren't you supposed to have them all in coats & mufflers?  Looks like just like the cows on the farm. Woody has offically given up on going outside. The drift off the porch is twice his size. He just pees on the porch right now.

You know my mom offered to buy my husband some calf coats and ear muffs for Christmas a few years ago and I told her we would never use them.  We have NEVER had a problem calving in mid march.  I might purchase a few now 

I also wanted to thank those of you who commented on my first couple of pics this morning.  The first picture was taken from my front door (I took it through the window) and the second picture was out of my bedroom window.  There have literaly been times we have seen a cow calf while in bed.  We are lucky!  Plus my Grandparents live right next door, so that makes it great for emergency babysitting    My husband and I are very lucky.  Now if I could figure out how to put cameras on the trees in the woods I would never have to go out

We got 6" here 30 miles north of Nashville, at the other farm 100 miles west of here we got 12". First big snow we've had in a while. We usually get ice & a couple of inches.

Nice 'n warm "aqui en Springdale"! Redbuds and Dogwoods haven't woken-up yet, but the Jonquils (that's waht us hillbillies call 'dafodils') have emerged from slumber.
