I know that we touched on this months ago but I am trying to find some good informational material that I can share with my daughter for a project.  We watched a show the other night about carriage horses in NYC that was very slanted by PITA and the ASPCA. I agreed with much but the overall theme was way off base.  When I tried to talk to my daughter about the issues of not fully understanding all sides and issues regarding the problem she couldn't understand why I thought it was wrong that they closed the horse slaughter facilities.  Thanks for your help.

forgot to say range magazine and performancehorsenews have good articles as well.

range magazine can be a little caustic for some.

it all boils down to choice.

what's the difference between human slaughter rights and the horse slaughter from a logic perspective?

from a logic standpoint, societies simply choose when and where to be incongruent.

everyone denies it, try as they might, i haven't seen very many people square the above argument why it's ok to kill a human but not a horse.

at least using my argument.  when they don't use my argument, why then should we kill bacteria?

isn't all life equal, unless it's human of course.

one of my links was incorrect.

here's a search result from a corrected link

http://quarterhorsenews.com/index.php?searchword=horse+slaughter&option=com_search&Itemid=5

here's a response to an article

"I've never seen an article filled with so much BS in my life. Horse slaughter is for greedy, money-hungry, idiots. Horses are PETS....we do not eat them and shouldn't let anyone overseas eat OUR horses either!!!"

why not?  do they go to church?  i didn't know that all horses were "their" horses.  i am always amazed from a logic perspective, why these people value animal life over human life.

using their logic, abortion is for greedy, money-hungry, idiots. fetuses are HUMANS....we do not kill them and shouldn't let anyone overseas kill OUR babies either!!!"

in the bible, the tradition of not eating horses was to reduce conflict.  carried to it's logical liberal extreme, it became a religion not to slaughter them.  funny how the french seem to not have a problem with this.

society is defined by selective hypocrisy.

From what my professors say, the Vet. society of America is pro horse slaughter.  I would also try to explain how many horses are being abandoned or starving to death.

Abandonment is the single most, legal, inhumane, selfish act known to man. And after abortion is legalized it will be the second most, inhumane, selfish act known to man.
