Im not saying we don't need to have this quote... i was referring tothe blatant mispelling of a word when we have spell check
[/quote]

Now who should have used spell check. AH

If u will refer to my earlier post, i said it is informal writing so i don't really care about grammar errors. But when the name of a topic has a word like illegal spelt wrong, it looks bad on us as a group of people. Then when i saw it in the discussion it really got under my skin.

Mexico is a huge problem - both for themselves and us.  We are way too cynical about our own government - if this was easy to stop it would have been done a long time ago.  It's not a failure of either our Republican or Democratic presidents.

In order for this country to re-establish ourselves economically, we need more of a manufacturing base than we've got.  The only way to do that is cheap labor.  I'd rather build things here with cheap labor than have it done overseas.  Since I'm not willing to sign up as cheap labor and I doubt any of the rest of you are either (not much money left over to buy those $20K show steers if you do that), someone has to do it.

I honestly think we need to make it MUCH easier to immigrate legally.  Bring em on - but get them on the tax roles.  I reallly don't care how much they pay in taxes, just something.  But right now they are taking advantage of us - and the businesses that employ large numbers of them are taking advantage of many of them.

Our government really does try to limit it, but there isn't any way to do it.  I have some business dealings related to the border fence.  The only portions of that fence intended to slow people down is in the cities.  The rest of it is vehicle barriers over the vast majority of its length - to stop the 18 wheelers full of drugs from running cross country into the US.  They use bulldozers to get them across the river.

What is happening over there with the drug lords is heart breaking for those people.  We had a LEGAL mexican that used to work for us that got busted as a mule a couple of years ago - twice.  Talked to him after the first time and he told me THEY would kill his family if he didn't agree to do it.  He got caught a second time and I have no idea where he's at now.  I imagine he was telling the truth.

Thank the good lord you were born here instead of there.

"A record 1,046,539 persons were naturalized as U.S. citizens in 2008. The leading countries of birth of the new citizens were Mexico, India and the Philippines.
As of 2006, the United States accepts more legal immigrants as permanent residents than all other countries in the world combined."

to me, that  seems pretty easy.  eisenhower did a pretty good job.  there are plenty of laws on the books now to rectify the problem, we just need to enforce them and add clarity on the anchor baby question.  they will self deport.

each time the democrats propose legislation, 1965, 1986, it was promised there would be enforcement.  each time there was enforcement, racism was accused and our own tax dollars were used through the ACLU to sue us for enforcing immigration law.  the ACLU no longer needs funding from taxpayers.

i also agree with legal immigration.  the issue is a cash based labor force and the lack of something similar to the bracero program.

the authorities need to go aggressively go after people who skirt the IRS and make cash transactions and don't pay taxes like one on here who told me that's what they do and expect me to pay for all their policies.  they come from both parties for different reasons.

there is absolutely NO REASON WHATSOEVER that we should compromise one bit on learning english as a prerequisite for citizenship and immediately transact government business in one language only.

The Federal Government does not want to stop illegal immigration.  This has been proven by them doing nothing to stop it in the way of fences on the borders.  It can be stopped.  To further prove my point, Attorney General Holder is looking at filing a federal lawsuit against Arizona claiming they are violating civil rights of the illegals in their new laws.

As far as drug running, the majority of the drugs are brought in by the CIA if you listen to whistleblowers that have been screaming this since the 1990's.  The funds are used to fight covert wars around the world and to prop up Wall Street.  The CIA is also credited with developing Crack.

wrong.  the american citizens do not want to stop it.  they hire people at home depot.  the federal government can't possibly hire all the illegals that come here.  they can't possibly smoke all the crack cocaine either.  it's really very simple to stop this.

it's the american citizen's fault and no one else's.  if the american citizen didn't do drugs and would stop hiring illegals, these problems would go away overnight in spite of the federal government's wishes.

the stimulus package waived local governments from using ID to verify immigration status.  they also overpaid wages by about 100% for jobs such as installing windows which i can verify as my step son and his illegal alien coworkers got 30+ and hour to do stimulus jobs at fort ord versus ~15 regular to install windows.

the voter who doesn't throw an elected official out of office for doing this is responsible, not the government.

What has the federal government done to stop illegal immigration.  Do we have fences that I am unaware of?  Blaming everything on the American citizens is not correct IMO.  Walmart's destroy local small businesses but when they come to town everyone goes there.  If we were to eliminate the illegals, they would not be tempted to hire any.  We are not trying to eliminate illegal immigration and the feds are considering suing Arizona.

Do you doubt the problems created by the Private Federal Reserve?  Controlling ones money supply is more critical than standing armies. The Globalists who control our politicians want to destroy our national sovereignty.  Thus, allowing strong borders to exist will not allow them to reach their goals.

Now, I do not doubt your claims about the government overpaying to illegals and giving them our money.  But, that fits into what I am saying.  They want them here.  Eventually, when people finally wake up to all of this, illegals will be the police pointing guns in our face.

BTW, did you see where they were giving out prepaid credit cards in Chicago yesterday for guns?  Fox News was reporting on this live on the scene!  No, I did not see this on my tv but while I was getting a burger in town.  I will never pay for mass media tv.

citizens shop at walmart, not the government.  the government is us.  you don't blame anything on the american citizens and blame only the government.

there is only one person to blame and that is the american citizen.

I understand that the American Citizens have gotten fat and lazy and allowed most of what has been done to them to be done.  You are right about that.  But, we need to have a government we can trust.  We do not have anything close.

A major step to combating illegal immigration would be to repeal the 14th ammendment.  If all the children on illegals can't claim citizenship it will be a lot easier to get rid of them.

Attached is a link to a professional presentation made at an engineering conference I attended a month ago by a senior facility manager for U.S. Customs and Border Protection.  Whether you chose it to believe it or not, the people that work for this agency do try.  They are dramtically underfunded and overwhelmed by the scope of what they are tasked with trying to prevent.  For those of you that would like a little bit of insight into what this agency really does that is not political or filtered by the media, here you go.  There are some pretty staggering statistics in here of what they do catch and prevent.

Of particular interest to me was the extensive tunnel networks that are now constructed in urban areas to bring drugs in.

Also, read the DHS's webpage on the fence.  If anyone wants to rant and rave on a particular topic, one should at least understand a little bit about what they are ranting and raving about.

I've never seen an example of a country in history that was able to keep immigrants out that wanted to get in.  You can throw out examples of totalitarian governments that used lethal force, but really, how many people were trying to get in those places.  They sure as heck couldn't keep people from escaping (i.e. East Germany).

Another important thing to note is that population growth in this country and especially in Europe is very low to almost zero.

To one thing they must make up their minds, or, they will be disappointed in every expectation of happiness as Americans. They must cast off the European skin, never to resume it. They must look forward to their posterity, rather than backward to their ancestors; they must be sure that whatever their own feelings may be, those of their children will cling to the prejudices of this country, and will partake of that proud spirit, not unmingled with disdain, which you have observed is remarkable in the general character of this people, and as perhaps belonging peculiarly to those of German descent, born in this country.

Sure enough, many Germans tried to keep speaking German and create enclaves. So too will future immigrants, and as before, they will adopt and assimilate.  Their isn't race, class or any other victim class that both parties try to perpetuate that in the long run will not fall by the wayside with a little self help by those who can.
