Maine-Anjou nominations for the bull bracket

I'm not nominating Draft Pick for the brackets, but I can sure say he was revolutionary to the Maine breed.  If it wasn't for him, we may not be required to genetic test our Maine's for PHA.

My nominations are:

Power Plant
Polled Pursuit (I'm not a fan, but he did have a huge influence)
Strutt
Ali ( Again, not a huge fan, but a huge influence)
Hardcore

Hey ZNT - sure with ya on DP, but not a fan of Pursuit, Ali or Executive either. Seems there may be many bulls with an impact but it isn't always positive

I love Witch Doctor.  He was probably the first REAL lower birthweight Maine out there.  Midas is also a great sire.  And Smithbuilt is also a huge foundation sire of the Maine breed.  I believe Strutt goes back to Smithbuilt.  One of my favorite cows I have owned in the day was out of JP Chicago, a Smithbuilt son.  Stout has also added some easy calving to the Maine breed.

I saw Stout at Nichols in 1994 (a little past his peak) and the bull was a structural train wreck.  His back legs were so far underneath him that they had to lift him with a sling to collect him.
He only belongs in the Broke Back Bracket.

That may be true (or maybe he was having a bad day) but since 1994 he is a consistent producer of Cornerstone Dams - and they get their by being fertile, functional and long lived - heck, I don't know, maybe all those Stout sired Cornerstone dams were on crutches

perhaps stout worked where two wrongs make a right.  he was too sickle hocked, and maybe who he was bred to was to straight and they met half way when he worked best?

However, if you are going to select the three bulls that have the greatest influence on the Maines, it would be hard to find two with more descendants than Cunia, Power Plant and Polled Energizer.

We are not talking about better bulls but the most influential.
