When we first seen this calf, he was great. He was still on his momma so we couldn't take him then. The guy we bought him off of told us, 'Take him to weigh-ins, and bring him back here (our new barn wasn't fully finished yet) and I'll have him fed out, and broke for you guys' We took up his offer, needless to say the guy did nothing to this calf, he was no where near being broke, and to be quite honest, it looked as if he didnt even feed him that much. At our weigh-ins in December he weighed 548, when we got him to our house in about mid-January, he weighed 590. Were not sure of his weight now. I spent all the time I possibly could and many hours after midnight in the barn, to get this calf to where he is now. This calf went from good, to bad, to a decent looking steer. I just have to keep reminding my dad, I know I dont have a Grand Champ., maybe not even a class winner, I have a decent calf, and thats all that matters to me.
