Sorry again for misleading you. Glen Ferris sent me that picture. He was really proud of him and asked me to come take a look. Back in those days, a 15/16 solid black wasn't easy to get. Strutt did a lot of things right in my opinion. Never any structure issues and reasonably good calving ease. Females made good cows.

It would be cool to have a piciture of AA Black Gold 500.

Yeah, I really like my Strutt cows and had never seen a picutre of him other than the National show picture that was plastered all over! Besides the fact that Strutt sired great structure, great mothers, very pretty cows, the bull lived to the ripe old age of 15 I think, so longevity is built in!

I was always fond of the Ferris Ranch program - I thought they were good honest people with good honest cattle. Although I have a picture of FR Gizmo, I don't think I ever saw FR Magic and I have never seen Black Gold....but the hunt continues...hold on to the prize - I might go double or nuthin!

Farm boy, I'll guess and say Inox. Another great looking bull.

Use to have pics of both Gizmo and Magic, but threw them away during spring cleaning last year. The Ferris family has a rich and wonderful history. Jane Ferris                        is still breeding cattle and recently purchase a bull at the Fort Worth Maine sale. Tom and son Glen are both deceased. Both Glen and his Dad were really good cow people. Glen eventually talked his Dad into raising club calves because the cattle business was tuff in the 80''s. That decision, I feel, helped save their farm. Their commercial
cow herd was considered one of the best with mostly Angus and some Shorthorn as foundation.

They are very distinctive. Sort of slant eyed, it seems to pass down the generations. I can tell my Foreplay's by their eyes.
