Legends can be kinda plain on plain cows, he has worked best for us to moderate real pretty, ND genetis, and worked awsone on a gambles hotrod female

We have had a lot of luck with missing link, and the next step bull, but i think semen is hard to come by but I may be thining of a differnt bull that lees have.

I'm not much for pb Angus cattle but the fanciest ones I've seen were sired by Lut.

I guess that would all depend on what your trying to get our of them,  I love Legend for maternal replacement, but they aren't going to be showy enough if that's what you looking for.  A little more explanation of what you're trying to raise would help.

I am using a Lutton 1831 son, KDJ Aberdeen, I can not afford to put Lutton in all my cows, so that's why I went with what I think is his best new son.  I am using on plainer type cows.  The Lutton's I have seen had plenty of thickness, and are fancy.  If you need more body on some cows and still keep them showy, I would use Gamble's Hot Rod.  But we all know that Lutton is a Northern Improvment Son, so think about NI too.

Well, I certainly want cattle that are maternal in their look, but I just need a little more muscle and stlye. Here, if I could raise this in about a 5 frame, +15 $EN package, I'd be all over it. Thanks Texas Heat.

You find ones that will breed those and I'd be all over it! (clapping)

Heh, no kidding!  :D The only reason I'm not sure about using Legend is because the 2 females we have out of him are the best phenotypically, but they weaned so-so calves and NEITHER bred back.  ??? Also, I don't want to go "clubby" Angus with bulls like NI.

The BC bulls will throw more than 5 frame.  For me a 5 frame is too small.  Of the OCC bulls and your goals I would have to say Next Step, then Legend.  You could relly get after it with DDA Emblazon 27C.

Mulberry.

No offense, but I think that he only wants black Angus.    I figure that if others can use that line (or a similar one), I can too.  (lol)  (clapping)

TJ is right. Gotta keep 'em black.  ;D Well, there haven't been many real good comments about Matrix.  :-\ He sure looks good and the support pics look good, but I reckon that's the point. OCC Next Step was also pretty high on my list. Well, I have a good friend and mentor who's breeding to Legend and Lookout, so I'll let him find out how they do. Very similar environment, too. I think I'll breed to O C C Next Step. That +20 $EN in that stylish of package looks like a good option. Thank you all. Glenstory, my one 27C cow is alright. Still waiting to see how she matures. However, her frame is perfect. 3-4 frame is great. Eventually, I want most of my cowherd to resemble this build, only without horns and solid black.  ;)

On the other hand, both Lookout and Next Step are both out of Legend. And Legend has a plus +31 $EN.  :-\ Hum. Anyone else have fertility problems with Legend daughters?

I can't believe I'm saying this ::), but have you considered a Lowine bull, I know some of them TJ has posted look like the picture you've posted without the horns and if you like the smaller frames they are all black and moderate.
