Is the question "I have Power Plant semen what kind of cows work best"?
Yes
This is actually a question I am currently pondering -so the answer is sort of a work in progress
Power Plant added style, muscle, moderates and adds calving ease. He is not maternal, calves are not always correct, and there is a tendency to have more tubular offspring.
He is neither homozygous solid patterned or homozygous black
He did however sire a bunch of excellent bulls (Witch Doctor, Stout, Caesar, Zeke etc) (and some duds, and some that never collected) - what these bulls seemed to have in common was a great dam - often tracing to Smithbilt, Cunia, Epinal or Copenhagen - the other thing common to these Power Plant sons was excellent promotion.
His sons certainly seem to have longevity and many (including Stout) are repeatedly sires of Cornerstone dams. Wise's used PP genetics with their Midas females with some success. I have a picture of LLND Tempest (PP x ZTA BLK Ruby 535P - a Paramount grand daughter) - although long and feminine, she is more tubular than I prefer. I am not really aware of any great PP females...
So bottom line - for Maines anyhow - cow needs to be deep, correct, maternal - I am thinking of either a Midas or Magic female, but still thinking
