Questions about fall born clubby calves

So, our daughter bred her good Built Right cow to Monopoly (our first clubby calf), and we got a bull calf born about a week ago. This guy is pretty good, I think, with some chrome to go with him. Of course, he is still young, but now I am wondering what do we do with him? We are a seed stock producer, and I have a good market for bulls, but he does not fit my bull profile (being clubby). He has a ton of hair compared to my other simmental calves, and a lot of bone. But I am not sure how to  market him.... We usually do not cut our bulls until weaning time, but if we were to market him as a steer that might be a little late (he might get bullish looking). Is there a good market out there for clubby steers born in the fall? I thought about keeping him until nationals, and letting her show him at nationals, but then what? He will likely be over the 900 pound mark, and not easy to sell. We do not need another steer for the freezer. I am just not sure what to do with the little guy!

Yes, like crystalcreek says, there is a good market for good fall born steer prospects in Texas.  Try an ad in Steer Planet when he gets a little older. I like the Built Right/Monopoly pedigree.  You may be able to market him as a bull.  I bet the females would be pretty good out of him. You don't say, but I am assuming he is black with some white which is not the preferred color for our slick shows but if he is exceptional, color won't stop him from finding a good home.  Good luck!

I took these tonight, not the best quality (I have an old iPhone 3) but you see his chrome and stoutness. He is just a 9 days old, but he does not look it! His dam was 3rd overall in Iowa as a Pair at the Simmental Nationals several years back (she is pictured behind him). She is one of our top cows, and we have several daughters, granddaughters and now great granddaughters in our herd producing.
So, leave him a bull for now and see how he grows sounds like the plan. I will try to keep updating with pictures this winter as he grows...

yes, Houston Livestock show and rodeo is March, he would a good fit for all the Majors, Fort Worth, San Antonio an Houston ( Jan, Feb and March)

There's a very good market for fall born steers in Oklahoma, and some of the southeastern states as well as Texas.

He definitely has that show steer look to him, hopefully someone on this site needs a good fallborn calf. If he continues to develop like he is, it should be easy to move him.
