Bull has caught my eye too and he was raised over here by me just across the river in Wisconsin. Buddy mine went to sale and said everything there looked real good. Seems to be a good run operation.

Chasing numbers.  Id like to see him with much more heart girth and if the YW EDP of 153 is accurate, I'd sure hate to have to feed his daughters through the winter.

We have a heifer who is very small in frame size so we were hoping to give her some size and growth while still having a low birthweight. So that's reason for debating on using him. But I also agree with your concerns which is our debate.

He should inject some size - 55" is a pretty big bull.  I'm just learly of any bull w/ no actual numbers.  I think its also important to remember that you can add a lot of size w/o increasing frame height.

Give CC&7 a look.  He usually adds a little frame size and his numbers are good but not extreme.

I actually had the oppertunity to stop in there and talk to Glen Davis about the bull when I purchased a cane of semen on him. He is the number 1 bull in the angus breed in birth to YW spend. I did not get to view him personally becasue he was at stud when I had stopped but what i was told is that he is super long and big footed. He is extremely powerful but does not look that way when viewed because his long skeleton. He is also super athletic and hits his tracks in every step. I know there were thinking about showing him out in denver last year but decided not to because they knew Express would win it no matter how good the bull is. A full sister to RB  Tour of Duty sold in denver and now has a valuation of 170k. 8 of the top 10 females in the angus for growth are out of him or his full sib Active Duty. For what you are wanting to do i believe this bull would work imo. Also I would say give Glen Davis a call at Riley Bros. this bull is his pride and joy and absolutely loves talking about him!

The bull weighed 2870 when he was out at Denver this Jan. on display and did not look fat according to PPL that saw him. I did hear also that he is athletic.
