From the looks of your heifer, she needs to add volume to her calves. Double Vision, like OH Breeder mentioned, would work well for a steer, but as you know when you're wanting one, the other comes. And if you get a heifer you want to keep out of DV she probably won't milk well enough to suit you. It's really difficult breeding Shorthorns because, there's not much consistency for any one trait. I'm speaking of the clubbier bulls. The Robison Boxcar bull you speak of,I have fond memories of,because my brother bought him as a calf from Don. He kept him about 8 years, then kept a son out of him and a Plumbtree cow. That bull sired 4 class winners and several division champions at Jr. nationals and at major "open"shows. The Double Stuff lines,ie. Perfect Timing,X ray Vision, Major Impact, and Warhorse worked really well,as long as the cows were structurally correct.Ace of Diamonds might work also, but sometimes they are late to develope, and some folks give up on them to soon.Gizmo was used to some extent and a few good calves were born.Several of the mentioned clubby bulls might work, getting the "rib Shape" they are crying about nowadays would be the only concern, along with soundness.I probably would go with Ar Su Lu Legacy,Caslerock,K-Kim Baseline,or do as alot of clubby people I know of,and try your luck with Crimson Tide. Should know this spring about that guy,as his first calves should arrive this spring.Another bull that has had some "quiet" success is Tin Cup. Bob May has had several calves that he has bought and resold out of him, that were pretty darn good calves.,,,, Good Luck.
