Monopoly has a couple of good wins in Texas and Oklahoma, but Carnac is definitely in the conversation. The win in Fort Worth topped 1400 steers.

The KRVN Pacesetter Calves I have seen had plenty of bone & width.  He had several divison winners @ SA this year.  SA was one of the better Limmy shows I have watched in a long time, lots of good quality cattle.  If I had to use a Limmy to add bone & width, it would be KRVN Pacesetter.

I'm not totally convinced about the Monopoly bull just yet. Where are seeing all of the great Monopoly's Zach? I'm still thinking that he is 90% hype and 10% good bull on the right cows. The ones that I have seen will surprise me if they can compete all the way to the heavy weights, and if he is going to be it, what about his 2 full sibs. All Aboard & Headliner? I think that right now Carnac has the best prooven show ring record with Ne State fair & Fort Worth to just mention 2 quickly. Brent
A Monopoly won the show in Springfield Oh last weekend. I saw him up close and he was a dang good one. Really sound, soft, lots of look, right sized, but he wasn't gonna overpower anyone. We'll see if he has enough in the seat of his pants come fat steer time, but for now, very good. Get this, he's out of a Heatseeker cow. Who would have ever done that is nuts, but I guess they look like a genius now

Throttle, I have seen some good lite wts.& I think that a person could sell them as prospects, I'm justquestioning the finished weights. I've seen a pile of real good Alias steers as feeders , but can't say that I can remember a good finisher Alias. Time will tell. We'll all see a bunch more Monopoly calves this spring/summer. KRVN Pacesetter is a Blaque Rulon son. I don't think he is going to add bone or width to maines or cluuby females. He should to purebred limis.

Chambero,
I am trying Rick Fye's bull Pitch Black as a full flush derivative this year.  We have a pretty nice Draft Pick cow that isn't quite stout enough to make steers but has been a tremendous mamma cow.  We have flushed her to Jigsaw, Duff New Attraction and will breed her this week to Pitch Black (PHAF full sib to THe Godfather) for a flush next week.  I have been really impressed with the ones I have seen out of him.  Numerous breds in Frye's last 2 sales.  He isn't promoted at all anymore and is owned by Brooks Shepherd.  I would like to see a picture of him.  Feels like a risky move, flushing a cow to a bull you haven't seen, but I trust Frye enough to take a flyer.

Chap, have you seen very many Invincible's yet? With his slow start, it's hard to get him used enough. I really like the looks of the bull early on, just haven't heard a lot from him. Thanks, Brent

I have seen several Invincibles, They are pretty cool made, shaggy and have some muscle and bone.  They look to have quite a bit more GAS than alot of other bulls.  I think you have to use him on little cows and he would stouten them up and give them some performance.  I think you use him more like Full Flush rather than a typical HW son.  I love the cow side of his pedigree and I think he will be pretty consistent because of it.

for the people that dont think it will be a hw son. that heatwave is a trend when were you born.90% of all major winners and high sellers are heat wave or wave sons. did not use any hw for the first 10 years in club calf business and never sold one for more then 2500. this year sold hw's for 11250.00, 4500.00,4300.00,3000.00, 2300.00. In the first hw calf crop.Needless to say i'm a hw fan.If you want steers and you want to sell them high hw or a son are the only way to go.

We are a little late to the Heat Wave dance also.  We had Heat Wave calves for the first time this past fall.  We had a little trouble with their vigor, but not much calving difficulty.  Two of the best calves I've ever raised are in the barn right now getting halter broken.

From a small sample size, I'd bet a lot of money that a whole bunch of those really good calves the past several years really are Heat Waves.  I know people can call them what they want and nobody would be the wiser, but that bull just works.  It will be nice to find a better one without his warts, but there is a reason he has sold the amount of semen he has.  I wish I would have quit listening to all the worriers on him about two-three years quicker.

I have to agree with Chambero on this one, if you're having something you're calling a Heat Wave you had better advertise the heck out of that bull cause I sure haven't found anything that breeds even close to Heat Wave.
