When judging phenotype that's a given and it's easy to parrot that phrase from DL that people see what they want to see.  What gets me is why do you guys think a person would WANT to see what I was talking about with PHA?  It would be much easier to say there is no positive benefit.

Parrot??
There is actually science to demonstrate that people see (and hear) what they want to see (and hear) and that not only has to do with cattle - so take your parrot and let him ride on your hairy big butted straight legged carrier

SH - the horse is still not drinking ;)

DL, what does you reply have to do with the point?  Where did you think I said that people don't see what they want to see?  You are setting up another straw man.

I asked WHY you think I would want to see this in cattle.

(You are obviously riled up but you are above the ad hominem attacks.  If you took offense to the parrot comment, just imagine what would you do if I spoke to you the way you and SH are speaking of me?  This thread would have turned into a flame war.)

Okay I give. Commercial producers don't care about genetic defects in Texas anyway. Where do all the calves go from these genetic Angus carrier bulls? I'm assuming the heifer calves will be sold on satellite and sent to some unassuming party somewhere else. Do you think commercial producers will accept all genetic defects or just the curly calf deal? I always thought that the th cattle didn't gain as well in the lot. Do you think the differences in defect genetics create more hybrid vigor somehow. Wonder why the Angus assc. is going to the trouble of eliminating defects if the "commercial" man accepts them? I would agree that there almost gets to be to much information in sale catalogs like epds. But man I never realized how open minded the Texas commercial people are to defects. I think I can get this thread in the KLA magazine. ;D

What's the deal with people replying to points I didnlt make as if they are replying to what I said?

You can't make absolute statements if you care to be right.  Most won't, you are the one who said there aren't any that will.

Jeff sometimes its just best in threads like these to let certain individuals have the last word or it could go on forever.

There is nothing like a good old defect debate to rile everyone up. I think we all have our own opinions and nothing anyone says is going to change our minds. Just remember.... the side I am on is right , and the rest of you are wrong.... just kidding , I just couldn't resist!

You can't make statements absolute unless you salute or solution. Last I knew texas was the no. 1 cow calf state. Cherry county nebraska was second. I think you are talking in terms of what can I get away with rather than what needs to be done. What is Texas's livestock assn address or contact guy?

And some people will never "get the other side"... please note I didn't say "agree with".

And to think I haven't posted in DAYS.... word, word, word, word. (wanted to make sure you were right!)
