At 3AM this morning my son woke me up saying one of your cows is making a bunch of noise, well nothing is due to calve so not sure what it could be. We head out there and take a look, the property slopes not a steep slope but has a slope and along the one fence line the water runs and has creates a low area. The Angus cow we have has some how got her self in the low spot and cant not get up. the fence line sits up higher and the low spot runs right along the fence so she is really stuck. Luckily I had been moving some round bales with a Mini-x and it is up at the top and easy enough to get, my son grabbed some of the mule tape I have in the barn, we get it around her front feet hook the rope to the bucket and slowly get her out of the ditch and her feet pointed down hill. She was a little stressed and tired but other than that I think she is fine, she is due to calve in June so hopefully the stress doesn't make her slip the calf. She was the first up at the barn for cubes this morning so hopefully that is a good sign.
