We don't make anything in this country anymore.  Cost of labor and compliance with regulations plus fact that there are well-educated people in other countries with much lower cost of labor and regulatory compliance, not to mention a better institutional work ethic equates to a "mancession" in this country.  At some point, when the money for continued unemployment benefits runs out, there is going to be a further wrenching transformation of society, but not for the reasons AlGore envisioned.
