For depth of body, I sure like what I have seen from Open Bar.

JB, you may want to study Open Bar's sire, Ice Chest. He looks like he should do what you are asking for. There should also be some good perspectives on him from the board. I'm not sure of his PHA status. Of the bulls mentioned above, I would have to say either Open Bar or Lifeline.

Ice Chest is pha positive, Open Bar is free. The OB calves I've seen were moderate and loaded with guts!

You take your Maine bull and breed him to an Angus cow, that is the best way to get guts in them! (clapping)
Ok, seriously, Joe has a much guts as any Maine bull I have seen.

In my opinion from what i have seen open bar will add guts but as far as any other maine bull out there today i dont see it happening.
the maine bulls out there today dont add guts not ali, joe or any that i have seen.  The calves will only have as much guts as their mother has.
The only good maine bulls i know of to make females would be on deep bodied angus or simi angus female are chill factor, cunia 602 but have to have that semen.  Strictly business on deep angus looking females or simi angus and nuttin but business on only angus females.

I like Lifeline and have a couple of his sons, but depth is not what he's good at.

Did you ever get the info you needed on REI?  I sent you a PM to give me a call.

We went to Missouri to care for my mother-in-law and she passed and we have been so busy since I got back that I have not called you, but will.  Thanks a million.

I have had Ali calves and bulls that I have sold that had what I am asking for in a bull....

Watching Gigolo Joe walk at you, I get the idea he will do what I am asking.  I like the squareness of Lifeline but my calves out of him are not any wider floored than their dams.  Those from his 1/2 brother, Jazz are.  I think New Level and Smokin Joe might add some debt to the calves.  My widest fronted cows without being too wide are 1/2 Maine and 1/2 Shorthornes or 1/2-1/4 Semi's.

I'm not sure what he wants, but a Maine bull is 3/4 or higher, anything lower would be a Maintainer.

i don't know what he breeds like, i bred one cow to him, but wild turkey sure is deep and wiiide.  i bred him to a cow who tends to throw them a little longer snouted, taller long boned and narrower than herself.  i think he's polled to boot.
