One thing about baling hay is I get to catch up on a lot of radio. Here in Canada, we get a lot of information on the US, and today I heard that it is reported that the death threats to Obama are averaging 30+ per day, which is the highest number any US President  in history has received. The report said that this is 400% higher than what George W Bush received at anytime during his Presidency.

My question is.... what do you think would happen in the US if one of these goof balls was actually successful in assassinating the President? Whether you like him or hate him, would there be any country left after the rioting ended. Would the rioting and open warfare that resulted from this act, make the Rodney King riots look like a Sunday School picnic? Just was wondering what everyone thought..... in the long run would this be a much worse situation for the country or not?

i question the accuracy of those stats.  that said, it only takes one no matter who the president is.  i wonder what obama is versus lincoln.  probably no one had more threats than lincoln.  probably no one was hated more than jefferson or adams during their term.

it's just another endless stream of ploys to get sympathy for obama because when you put any of his ideas on anyone else, everyone hates the ideas.  it's like some guy smiling while he takes your kids and wife, and you think, man, he's such a nice guy and you give him the car keys, the house keys and you still think he's a nice guy.  why the public is so wedded to government for everything from anyone, bush, obama whoever is really the sad part.

Biden would be better. Peelosi is third in command, now that is scary. I think there would be rioting and a division that may be as bad as the division today. I do think we would be a lot better off watching Obama ruin the country and learning a big lesson, so bring on the next Reagan!

The whole Democratic machine is so precisely orchestrated that it is obscene.  Biden was selected because he is a total idiot....he poses no threat to Obama's power.  Having Biden or Pelosi in power would be a total socialist nightmare.  I hope it never happens.    Remember that Hitler was a socialist too...........

I am really frustrated by the democratic party's refusal to listen to citizen concerns on the healthcare bill.  They will do whatever Pelosi or Obama want them to do......where are our checks and balances?

My thoughts exactly, Rusty!  And if that succession ended up being broken for whatever reason, we could end up with Nancy Pelosi as President!!  That's about the best life insurance policy anyone could have!!

one keeps forgetting that the progressive movement was founded by people enamored by stalin, lenin, hitler and mussolini.

the difficulty everyone has is removing the holocaust from the discussion.  if you look at all the economic and political policies of the above, they are more compatible with the democratic party than the republican party.

you might want to read the book by jonah goldberg titled liberal facism.  you could also find out that many in the FDR adminstration were "fellow travelers" who went to russia and were hoodwinked.

perhaps the greater fear is burning the talking points memo and have to compare and contrast information from sources not previously considered and that didn't support one's viewpoint.

reminder, i have never voted republican or democrat in any election, and for the most part, any election, so i don't buy the BS from either side.

Biden is definitely not the sharpest crayon in the box, but I dont think he would be any less of a president than Palin. My family has voted republican as long as I can remember, but this year they voted Obama and my dad didnt even vote because in his opinion neither belonged in office.
