Wanting to flush a Friction x WMW cow, what would be your bull of choice?  She's choke necked, very extended, LOTS of hair, big boned, real moderate and sound with plenty of muscle.  Could stand to be a tick bigger in her frame and a little softer middled.

Knabe..... there wouldn't be a difference in choke necked and goosy fronted.  The same but different I guess.

Kane & Vet Tech.... Afraid HW, Monopoly and JTG are too small for this particular female, although Vet Tech, I do like the Milk Man recommendation.  Not necessarily fond of his birth weights and calving issues, but probably the right type.

You might want to consider Leroy Brown, I hadnt really heard anything of him untill this year when I stopped at a guys place and saw a bunch of them, i bought one steer and he is as chunky, sound moving and as cool fronted as anthing I have seen this year.

how about sunseeker? i know he's got a little who in him but it wouldn't be that close. sounds like he would work on a rocket fronted calf. most i have seen were a little soggier with some grow behind them.

don't get too caught up in the frame guessing game.  I don't know if you can get them small enough anymore.  I don't necessarily agree but, seems like the small chunky ones are the easiest to sell, mature early and are easy to hold for big time weigh back shows.  Heat Wave would be my first choice, but Monopoly should work on her breeding.  Might also think about Unforgiven #22 from McKay. He won't make them too small, they are soft made, sound and good middled, I think he needs to be bred to cows with good hair.

Have noticed that some of these lines with chi on chi you will get more leg yhan you want. If it was me, Monopoly works best on these lines with some power behind them.

Lots of Monopoly fans..... but, have seen alot of them that are poor hipped (hooks to pins).  Are the Headliner's any better hipped than the Monopoly's, are they larger framed than the Monopoly's?  With WMW in her pedigree and her own conformation, would like to protect her in that hip. 

Sunseeker scares me on her for the same reasons. 

Smooth Sailing makes sense, although used some this spring with no conception, had it tested and was terrible quality.  Anyone seen many of the SSailings, how are they built/what they work on?  Unforgiven is a sire I've seen only a few calves from, but would possibly work.

What about ol' Heat Seeker himself??  Warrant???

Don't use Full Flush on Friction,thats number one!! Don't pay much attention to Knabe, thats number two.Don't know what you are trying to create,but sounds to me like a job for 'Hairy Bear",Carnac,Juneau [Angus] Troubador,Milk Man if you think you can't live without him.

TMJ.... Oddly enough I was thinkn of Hairy Bear last night.  What would he bring to the table?  Troubador was another bull I thought about, would like to c  a few babies this spring before I use him.  Didn't have any intention of going back to Flush lines. 

To date my list appears to be: Headliner, Hairy Bear or Warrant.  Any comments?

Warrant is too dirty.  I would think that HW, Hairy Bear or Monopoly would generate the most cash for your pocket.  Why not break out the Maximus?

if you look at pedigrees, as opposed to phenotype, it's pretty clear what people are trying to do.  

on the other hand, relying on pedigrees alone is pretty stupid.

on the other hand, where will you go to get a different opinion. i don't really see any.

it's almost like bacteria communicating by consensus. 

how does one get something different without trying something different?

how many ways can you cross HW, WMW etc?

Knabe, not using Full Flush or decendants for a couple different reasons, number 1 is her phenotype is not conducive to line breeding to Flush, would be too hard and probably unsound.  Clubby pedigree's are very hard to line breed and often unsuccessful, they are freaks.  While linebreeding for certain traits or characteristics makes sense, too much of a good thing (bone, muscle, etc) usually end badly.  This female needs to be made a touch bigger and some more belly.   Most HW sons would fill the bill, Hairy Bear should work.  

Anyone used Hairy Bear, what's he work on, what's he bring to the table?
