I never had any good luck breeding heifers to Ali so I stay away from him and his sons.....The only son I know of that has really good calving ease and accuracy with thousands of calves born is Smokin Joe. Ali soured me so bad I wont breed any heifers to anything that goes back to him. I tried...
If your wanting replacements and want to go Simm with her I have quite a few sim and sim/angus that go back to a Meyer 734 son. I have kept every single heifer out of those original cows and I think I have kept just about every grand daughter/great granddaughter out of them. I really don't think...
I have used WMW in the past and never got a calf that I was really impressed with. Had some ok to good calves but nothing shocking. Had 4 One and onlys last year and liked all of them and sold all the steers and kept the one heifer I had. Everyone of the One and Only calves last year would beat...
You can see a majority of the Lautner bulls at Hawkeye Genetics in Adel IA. Also there is Nichols in Ankeny IA that houses quite a few bulls. Usually Rodgers bulls are either at one or the other or both hawkeye and nichols.
My Lucky Break cows I hate the looks of, ugly headed and lots of leather, but they are great milkers and great moms and they dont carry the ugly on to any of the calves I have out of them. I have 2 really good One and only calves out of both of them this year.
I have had good luck with Lucky Break. Calves grow really well and I kept 2 that have made excellent cows. I have used Hooks Shear force with good calving ease but did not like the calves in the feedlot, none had the grow the lucky breaks did. I have a TNT Ever Ready son that worked great on...
Pics added. #10 Special Edition is not for sale. #29 One and only heifer is. Have 3 more one and only steers still in the lot that are just as good or better than these 2 heifers. Also have a My Turn steer, Sunseeker x WMW steer, sim steer calf out of an Ali cow that would all make great fair...
Before you get out the hot shot. Try walking beside them and not trying to drag them. The best route I have found is give the calf about 2-3 ft of rope and walk beside him or even almost behind him for a while. Im no way against hot shots but I never use them on my show calves. Hot shots might...
If your going to sell the heifers I think your best bet would be a Meyer son, I really don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Anything Meyer in the backround people seem to love to pay for them. I started my herd with 6 cows out of a meyer son and I think I have kept every heifer out of...
I have some good calves in the feedlot that I have not had time to get broke yet this year. I have steers and heifers out of One and Onlys, Sunseekers, Ali, WMW, Eyes on the Money, and Special Edition.
Have 1 one and only/sunseeker steer broke and 1 one and only/sunseeker heifer broke right...
I have some really good One and Only, Sunseekers, Ali steers this year. Starting at 1,000 and go up to 1500. Located 20 min south of Des Moines, just south of Indianola. Give me a call and I would be glad to show them to you.

I think if your heading to Denver with him you have to get him fitted. I myself like looking at bulls unfitted. But standing next to a whole row of fitted up bulls not many will stop and look at him. I think it would be great if there were a whole group unfitted but that will never happen...
When I looked at him as a yearling he looked like a man vs boys in frame and mass compaired to most the yearlings that year. I bred most of my top cows to him this spring and have high hopes for them.
All the ones I have this year are good. 2 out of sunseeker 2nd calvers. Lots of power and hair. 2 really good ones out of Lucky break 3rd calvers that have more frame, just as much power but not as much hair as the sunseekers. They still have decent hair though. Bred all my best cows to him this...
Sunseeker has always been the most consistant at my place for adding frame and bone. All the one and onlys I have in the pasture right now are the biggest calves. I really think they are going to keep going but who knows how they will finish. I have no reason to believe they are going to quit...
Richies are great if you have electric there to heat them, but when they get 10 plus years old they are high maint (which about all brands are at that age). I know the corbets work great, use ground heat, no electric and it takes below zero with no cattle using them to freeze over. If you have...
My family has built fences for 20 plus years. We always used a tractor and loader when there was one close by. A skid loader would work well also. Other than that we always pounded them by hand.
Sunseekers are the most consistant at my place, all out of sim/angus cows. Had 30 plus sunseekers between myself and somone I breed for over the years, not 1 cripple and not one bad calf out of all of them. Plus every single one of them has had the best temperment of any cattle I have ever...
I only graft calves if I have a calf that needs a cow. And I usually only do it if they are within a couple days or a week. Such as a cow that lost a calf and I have a twin. I will split the twins and try and get one of them on the cow that lost a calf. I did loose a cow and had a 15 day old...
