If you do splint it, make sure to use a lot of guaze to pad it so it does not rub and leave a sore or get infected. If it does that your worse off than leaving it alone.

Sounds like they were needing a tax writoff to even consider paying 90K for a herd bull. Most guys around my area will get 7years out of a bull. You figure 7 years and prob 50 cales a year for natural service equals  350 calves in a lifetime. Depending on markets you might make 300 dollars...

Don't think you could go wrong adding some charl. Put him on some angus/maine/or simm cows and you will want to keep prob every heif out of him. My charl xcows always raise better and heavier calves than any other cows i have.

I love my eyes on the money calves, frame size has always been small though even on 1300 lb cows. And their temperment is not the greatest. The same cows have had sunseekers and had good calves with great temperments. Another that I like is ground zero, makes great cows and good steers.
