I haven't posted on here for A LONG TIME and doubt I will be again anytime soon. It is just like about any other public forum where the more popular it got the more the idiots yelled the loudest or more often to be heard above the crowd...I couldn't pass this one up when I saw someone reference...
I know some ppl have good luck with training showpigs with marshmallows, but we haven't had any that really got into them. I think just spending tons of time with them is the key. My daughter just sits out there and talks to them, tries to touch them, works her way closer day after day. Put the...
I would ask Matt Lautner and I think he would give you his honest opinion. When he was at our place he told me that he seemed to be breeding a little stouter than Monopoly, but he had not seen enough to really tell. This was just after MI Expo and early in his travels. I bet he has a better idea...
Hey Dunk, thanks for checking in! How would you describe the bull? What would you mate him to? Registered Half Sim?
He reminds me of the Meyer son Aftershock a little from the pic, but that bull was never registered. This one could be interesting in the emerging percent Simmental market
I'm not sure if anything is going on with the collection service but I have seen Gary at some shows this fall/winter (Lima, NAILE) and I'm pretty sure they just returned from NWSS here in the last couple of days. He still has the same contact info, as far as I know, and is on Facebook, so you...
Has anyone seen this bull? Was he at NWSS? He is a Grizzly x SOS/Meyer owned by Ryan Dunklau. Took a decent pic and has an interesting maternal club calf pedigree. Says on Dunk's site that he was raised by Vary's in IA.

IMO, people run them down and start unsubstantiated false rumors about things that they really have no fact behind. Lautners have such a large market share of the club calf bull business and have been on top for a long time. I guess that is a target that other people shoot for and some of them...
I saw the bulls at Trausch's back in the fall too and I remember a HW that I think Chris said was out of a Witchdoctor, if I remember right. I thought that one would be big Denver news if he got hairy enough. He was small, WIDE, and sound enough
Saw him at Matt's in the fall and I thought he looked ok. A lot like u would expect by his pic and pedigree. Smaller than most, big boned, sound enough, not super thick, but decent muscled. Not sure what I missed, but he looked alright
I thought the Shorthorn Plus heifer that won ring B was from Tim Shaefer's?
Ring A steers
Vickland Cross
Vickland Chi
Heintz Cross
Heintz Cross (I think)
Shoemaker Cross
I just brought home 4 from a really green NE set 10 days ago that averaged about that...anyone want to buy the next major champion for $5000 ;) ;D ??
Seriously though, I had the pleasure of watching Macey help get sale calves ready that weekend as well and she appears to be pretty good help...
From what I'm hearing, you will not see as many steer guys sell online next year. Mainly for two reasons. One being the commission. I was involved in an online sale on one of the popular sites earlier this fall and the 10%/head cost was a REALLY big expense when we sold almost 40 head for a...
Saw them Saturday morning. I didn't look hard at the heifers. I didn't like either the Interstate or the SOS as well in person as on video. There was a really good heifer or two, but there was several really good steers. If my pocket book didn't have a bottom, I would've looked at the top end...
Just saw the shout outs on Hook's blog

I'd say in the east, you would be hard pressed to top a day looking thru Jason Shatto's and Dave Sutherly's. They are only about half an hour apart, both bid off on Breeder's World, Shatto's this weekend
